After seeing the glowing reviews of this book, I figured I would give it a read. At 186 pages, its a quick read. Overall; I enjoyed the book. There isn't a lot of action in the book. In fact, the only real action happens at the very end, and its over before you know it. Maybe I was distracted while reading this book (read it while on vacation and on flights) but I kept getting lost between characters (there are a few of them) and military terms.

Those were my only complaints of this book. While I prefer high action (think 80's action movies) books with a lot of violence and gunfights, this book has a REALLY cool story going on. I don't want to spoil anything, but I never expected the story to go the way it has. Just be prepared, this book does not "end." There are three other books that continue the story.

I am excited to see what happens next, and hopefully I can have some more peace and quiet when I read book #2. Overall, I can highly recommend this book.

Survivor of Nam - Baptism

This is probably the 3rd time I have read this 4 book series. Zlotnik has a way of creating characters that become “real” and that you care about. Excellent book

Viet Nam at early stages. Very descriptive and told like it was! Slotnik did his homework! I will look for book #2 which continues this story.
