Cutting is for Baby Talk

This group of short plays is brilliant. Especially sharp is the one about a mother whose baby begins talking in the womb. It is represented on stage by a cigarette smoking, whisky guzzling man who begins speaking in simple consonants and moves up to his first word "conundrum" and finally fashion tips and castigation of the mom.

These plays are horrifying, punctuated by the fluffiest of clever interludes. It's like Neil LaBute interspersed with David Ives.
