The last Wilder brother standing has fallen! Elliot Wilder is that brother, and of course, he doesn't just fall for one person--he falls for two! Their story is told in Finding the Road to Us, the sixth and final full-length novel in Carrie Ann Ryan's Wilder Brothers series...or at least for THIS particular set of Wilder brothers. Wink, wink. But let's concentrate on the youngest among THESE Wilder boys first, shall we? And turning your attention away from Elliot won't be easy, especially since he shares the spotlight with Trace Pritchett and Sidney Flowers. If you're familiar with the series, then those two characters aren't strangers.
When Sidney Flowers saw her groom anxiously waiting for her by the altar, she certainly didn't expect him to run away from her rather than walk towards her. Elliot Wilder and Trace Pritchett were the ones who offered her solace then; now, Sidney's back at Wilder Retreat, and as much as she's drawn to both men, she believes the best thing to do is ignore her feelings, especially when those feelings are for both Elliot and Trace. Crossing that line, though, seems inevitable. Giving in, however, also appears to actually invite danger. They may be willing to gamble with their hearts, but can they say the same with their lives?
One of my favorite things about this book was how the three main characters were simply there for each other. Elliot, Trace, and Sidney were pillars of support, lifting the one who needed it most and offering up understanding and patience alongside the love and respect. They trusted one another, and while there were obstacles that they needed to hurdle, each one came into their own, and becoming a triad was like puzzle pieces slotting into place. Finding the Road to Us was a five-starred way to end things for these Wilders, but Carrie Ann Ryan's got more Wilders (the cousins!) ready and waiting into the new year!
