FBI BAU Special Agent Lily Dawn, half Dutch, half Hispanic, raised in the Caribbean, knows the isles like the back of her hand. When a surge in serial killers in the region prods the FBI to assemble a task force, Lily is the natural choice. But Lily is reluctant to face the demons of her past, including her missing sister, and when a new serial killer strikes, leaving victims on a series of remote islands, Lily gears up for a deadly game of cat and mouse.

“The plot has many twists and turns, but it is the ending, which I did not see coming at all, that totally defines this book as one of the most riveting that I have read in years.”

Still Hope is book 2 in the "Lily Dawn FBI" series.
Let me start by saying that this series does pack a good amount of plot in a novella size book. The author does a great job at character development. I found most of the characters to be likable for the most part. Some more than others.
In this book, Lily is adapting to the Miami Office and is tracking a serial killer that is leaving bodies on empty / unoccupied islands.. which obviously makes it harder to find the bodies.
Her dynamic with her FBI partner is interesting so far.

The book was pretty engaging, and Ill definitely check the next in the series!

No Treasure Here

God's gift to the FBI, Agent Lily Dawn , is reassigned to Florida. She pairs up with the handsome Dancer and hunts for a deranged serial killer.

Don't like Lily. She is a know it all. She kicks into things and is self righteous and annoying. Pass.

Unique and Interesting
This is book two in the Lily Dawn series, but can easily be read as a stand-alone. This story packs a lot of the things fans of this genre look for: energy, fast pacing, plot twists, engaging characters, and some mild sexual tension.

There were a couple of things about this novel that were personally enjoyable aside from the above-mentioned. The relationship between Lily and her FBI partner has a certain amount of tension yet a really fun dynamic. She can't make up her mind if the guy is really okay, or a total jerk. But he's just who he is and she's having trouble dealing with it. Side note: I love the accent the narrator uses for him. I also really enjoyed the locations. Small mangrove islands in South Florida make for some of the best and spookiest settings for a read like this. They're beautiful, a little creepy, and can be dangerous, especially if there's a serial killer on one.

While I like this series, I'm not completely in love with it yet. But I find its unique style refreshing and the plots are pure roller coasters, so I'm still in. Fans of mysteries, crime stories, suspense/thrillers, and police procedurals will find much to love here.

Lily is finding her space at the Miami Office and is placed on the hunt for a culprit that is abducting and killing women in the area. The difficult part is that he is leaving his victims on small islands, most of which are not inhabited. The author has put a good story together and told it quite well. Looking forward to reading the following book as it might throw some light on Lily's estranged family relationship.
I thank the author for the ARC.

Lilly Dawn, FBI agent #2. Lily and Xander are stationed in Miami and investigating a series of murders where victims are buried on different islands and treasure maps are sent to the media. The writing seems a little immature sometimes but the subject/story are interesting. I will read another book but getting a little weary of the predictable plots. If the next one doesn't tell us what happened to Kara, I am done. C 2022

The storyline of this book has promise. However, the character development and dialogue, especially between the two characters in their roles as FBI agents, it’s terrible. Law-enforcement would never say things like “You have to stop doing this so I can arrest you.” I am not sure what Ava Strong‘s history is prior to becoming a published author, but it would benefit her if she did her research and at least learned about legal dialogue and de-escalation techniques.

Uses F word minimally. Decent book. Nothing out of the ordinary plot wise. Some repetitiveness. I listened to the first book in series a while ago. I realized this writing feels elementary. I actually looked to see if it was a YA book. 2.0 audio.
