Perfect for things to do AT HOME. Not a book about surviving out in the wilderness or on the run. For prepping at home, this is an absolutely fantastic book in prep for tornadoes, hurricanes, power outages, and other disasters that can come to your front door.

The Crisis Preparedness Handbook is a welcomed addition to my personal preparedness library. As a self-identified prepper, and as someone who has a background in emergency preparedness/services, I find Patrica’s compilation of both personal narrative and real world practice useful, especially for those who may be struggling to find “where to start” when it comes to a subject as large as this one. I love it that Patrica reminds us right off the bat that this is a handbook, not a novel, and so there is no need to read the entirety of the manual (which is extensive!), but rather take what you need to know as you go. I like Patrick’s writing style, which strikes me as similar in many ways to those of Tess Pennington, Daisy Luther, and Selco. I feel my biggest takeaway is the emphasis that underscores the book; this is all mental theatre until the action is called for, hence, why it is so important to rehearse now. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to know why they should care about this subject, and where to even begin.
