The war in Vietnam is over, but the battle rages on for Able Team. Only now the jungle fighting is in the hills of Orange County and enemy territory is Little Saigon, a refugee community ruled by the iron fist of General Sonny Trang.
Sonny's activities are pure as the driven snow. The illegal kind. He's doing business with a drug network hot-wired to Hanoi heavies, led by a communist colonel who's brought her talent for torture to Southern California. But he's also playing footsie with the CIA - shutting down all official channels to an indictment.
The President has only one option: he orders Carl Lyons and his men to return hostile fire. . . to crush Sonny and his Vietcong drug lords. This time America must win the war!
A nicely written mens adventure book by Ken Rose. Though the characters seem off, Lyons seemed like he forgot everything he has done in over 50 books. Pol takes over like the leader and even though Gadgets has the same experience he just seems like just another guy. However overall I did enjoy the book. Some Vietnamese are still fighting the war and this time in America. They are using drugs to fund it, when Able Team hears about it they go in to stop it. Quickly they find out that they are way outnumbered, but they get reinforcements from an unexpected source. Able Team follows them to Oregon where the enemy is ready for them.
Highly recommended, again for fans that have read all to this point the characters do seem mite off. Though it has plenty of action and a great finale.
The Vietnam War rages on in Southern California. With a stop over in the Pacific Northwest. The second 346 page Able Team book in the series, which I think was the last. Written by Ken Rose who wrote the first, is a blast. Not as much action as Mean Streets (Super Able Team #1) but how could it.
The team comes to Little Saigon in Orange County. A rich Vietnamese business man rules over all he sees. Even the feds seem to look the other way. People start to disappear. There is action in the streets. Action on the ocean. Wall to wall action. The plot is nicely paced out. The action scenes are not forced like some in this series. The ending takes place in underground tunnels, just like in Vietnam.
I just wish Ken Rose would of wrote more in the series. To bad there,s no Super Able Team #3. This series went out on s high note.
