When you fall in love with the Devil's henchman, 'personal demons' gains new meaning.
Kalyani Martin was a good Baptist minister's daughter, intent on saving herself for the right guy. In her new producing gig on a ghost hunting show run by Ryan Ausar, she might have just found Will Hellenboek, co-star on the show.
Will and Aidan, cousins and co-stars, are archdemons, working for Ryan. Their common past has been a long and sometimes bloody one, but the three men share an unbreakable bond.
The dark and crazy days of their past are returning to unleash vengeance upon them all. As Ryan struggles to keep things together behind the scenes, can he protect the fragile joy lighting his friends' lives, without revealing the soul-crushing truth and risking all they hold dear?
Warning, contains graphic M/M and M/F sex, anal sex/play, frequent snarkage, silly boxer shorts, hot archdemon lovin', and toe-curling soul mate deflowering.
Lesli Richardson is the writer behind the curtain of her better-known and more prolific USA Today Bestselling Author pen name, Tymber Dalton (her "wild child" side). She lives in the Tampa Bay region of Florida with her spouse and too many pets of various species. When she's not playing D&D with her friends or shooting skeet, she's a part-time Viking shield-maiden in training, among other pursuits. The two-time EPIC award winner is also the author of over two hundred and fifty books and counting.
She lives in her own little world, but it's okay, because they all know her there.
She also loves to hear from readers! Please check out her website for links, and to sign up for updates to keep abreast of the latest news, snarkage, and releases. There you'll also find reading order lists, and more information about her different series.
Misery continues to follow Ryan Ausar in this second book. This series should be read in order to experience the full impact of desolation. The cast of characters returns with Kal, Ryan, Will and Aidan. Ms. Dalton keeps on throwing out gut punches as the reader learns more about how Ryan, Kal and Will interconnect. What is worse, it is learning how this connection all started which makes a reader weep softly for noble Ryan. When was the last time someone felt sorry for the head archdemon?
As Kal and Will's relationship deepens, it becomes complicated when Kal starts dreaming about her past life. She isn't sure what is going on and Ryan is doing his best to keep her in the dark. When Ryan's carefully laid out secret plans unravel, it looks like everyone will be blown away - emotionally. Ms. Dalton excels at writing twisted relationships where there seems to be no happy endings. When two people are devoted and love the same person, how does this person choose? Do they want to choose?
What seemed to be just a paranormal romance morphs into a suspense. A previously character driven story is how a blend of both plot and character development. In her paranormal stories, Ms. Dalton tends to use a formula which works. The same holds true for this series. In each one, there is a specific defining moment in time where a person feels wronged. This slight or denial may seem trivial to most, yet it spikes into an out of control revenge. This works well for me because it does seem people can become overly dramatic and enact plans of mass destruction because their feelings are hurt. Ms. Dalton takes it to an extreme that doesn't seem ridiculous yet does make a reader feel incredulous. Or I should say, the readers who tend to lean towards facts when making decision instead of emotions. And emotions is what Ms. Dalton exploits so well.
This story is up and down with feelings as Kal runs through euphoria then despair. Several of the seven cardinal sins are featured front and center as the reader runs through an obstacle course of tragic events. Each of the characters both major and minor exhibit one of these sins: lust, greed, wrath, envy and pride. Well, I don't know if I would consider lust a sin in this case because the sexy times in this story are sweet. When the last chapter finishes, a reader may rail at Ms. Dalton and demand for the next book in the series. This torrid tale does end in a bit of a cliffhanger. This paranormal romance is recommended to readers who enjoy complicated relationships and alpha males who will do anything to protect their female.
This book has it all. Love and conflict. I fell for all of the characters of all the characters i feel the most for Ryan. I can't wait to see what Ms. Dalton has in store for these characters in the future books.
Second book in Tymber Dalton's Good Will Ghost Hunting Series (previously published under pen name of Lesli Richardson) which is being republished by Captiva Press. The first book is called Demon Seed.
Loved Hell's Bells even more than the first book. A really fabulous paranormal romance / urban fantasy read.
According to her website she does plan to write more books for her Good Will Ghost Hunting Series. I am not so patiently waiting for more updated news on when they are going to be written and released. Please hurry, Ms. Dalton!
