Inside these pages is our love story. It may not always be pretty and at times the moments may seem inconsequential but they shaped us and the world around us. About the author

Sarah is a beauty therapist turned author who spends her time racing around after her four young boys and one surprise daughter. Between playing referee to their daily wrestling matches she finds time to write about the characters that swirl around in her head.

She writes a lot of YA romance at the moment but has some ideas for adult romance that she just needs time to write.

Her newest book All of my Sundays is set for release mid January 2024 and is based on a marriage pact.

I’d like to start off by saying thank you Sarah for the ARC of this book, I’m really excited to start reading this!
This story follows our two main characters, Chance and Lacey. I would say that some of the stuff in this book I didn’t understand as much as another person might have, (the 90’s references?) because I actually know basically nothing about the 90’s. But for someone who knows things like that, I’m sure it’s a quick, enjoyable read. I read it on my kindle and it was quick but I had fun reading it. Thank you again to Sarah for the ARC, you were so nice!

This is a feel-good love story with themes of a supportive small town, genuine friendship, and lovers craving each other when apart. The blurb has a spark that pulls you in. The cover aptly captures a poignant moment: nature before technology took it away from us, and a tree that is pivotal throughout the book. It gets off to a good start. I wish the subplot of body image insecurity would've lasted longer than it did. The characters met when they were kids. The conversation between kids isn't written with their ages in mind. It reads as if adults are talking. Many sentences in this book are of the form "verb+ing ..., I ..," which feels amateurish. Other than that, I enjoyed the author's writing and appreciated the plot. It's weird that their parents allowed kids of different genders to be so close all day and didn't interfere much in their lives; maybe this is a cultural norm in America. I didn't get the hype of a phonebook, a mixtape, writing letters, or sending pictures by mail. The world described feels much quieter. It serves as a stark reminder that before phones, kids played outside so much. Nowadays, even play dates involve tech time. The characters get separated just shy of the halfway mark, and it feels like the intermission scene in a movie. Lacey is very feminine and has Chance wrapped around her little finger. It's fun to read about what a traditional relationship between a man and a woman should look like. The ending made me sad. They got together but were torn apart by time. I was feeling emotional and breathless and had to walk out of my room. If you were born in the early 1990s, you'll enjoy this book a lot.

Cutest little best friends to lovers story with sooo much 90’s and early 2000’s nostalgia it’ll take you back in time! So many laughs and so many adorable moments but *spoiler alert* ooo boii I was soo not ready for that epilogue hit smack bam in the feels.

"Chance and Lacey" is a beautiful book written by Sarah Delany. The setting of 1990's and early 2000's New Zealand was so much fun! I loved all of the 90's references including those to Trolls, Captain Planet and the Planeteers, Mariah Carey, and more. The characters were great to get to know! I love how so much of their friendship revolved around music. Both Chance and Lacey are kind, brave, sweet, and loyal. It was so sweet how Lacey sometimes calls Chance "Chancey." It was great to see the beginning of their friendship and to see their strong and unbreakable bond. The dual points of view/ diary and journal entries were perfect for this story! They help the reader to understand the feelings and emotions of both characters and to feel connected to the them. The author has done amazing work creating such three-dimensional characters who feel so real when reading about them. The tree was such a special part of this story! I love it and how it symbolizes Chance and Lacey's connection and their life together. I like the speed of the plot and the author's writing style is smooth. This book is lovely, sweet, thoughtful, heartwarming, and at times heartbreaking. I highly recommend it! I think anyone and everyone should read this book. This book got me out of my reading slump. I could not find a book that I could get into or relate to for the past couple of months and I was lucky to get an ARC and let me tell you, this book had me hook, line and sinker. It was definitely a page turner and I could not stop reading until I finished it cause I was so invested.
It follows the story of Chance and Lacey who meet when they are kids and all the ups and downs they go through. I love how the story is told in the two different perspectives and I loved the 90s references as I am a 90s baby and grew up in NZ, so all the references took me back to my childhood and felt I was there with them. This book is one of my favourite reads this year, so give it a go!

I would first like to thank author Sarah Delany for allowing me to read her book.
I believe that this cute book can be read in such a short period of time but it didn't happened to me, unfortunately. I picked this book up early in the exam week at school because I felt that this book was easy.
At first, I did not care about what was going on in the first half of the book, the first moment of Chance and Lacey met was adorable until I found the rest was vapid, however, I didn't want to just put it down easily so I decided to keep going until then, I discover the last of the book Impressive and Enjoyable, the writing and the language were vivid and sweet that instantly gleamed my mood. I'm so glad that I read this book and enjoyed it, looking forward to read more of this author's books😍.

Overall a good read. The book spent a tad too long covering their childhood for my liking and I didn’t think Lacey explained her disappearance well enough.

I received this book as an ARC from the author for my honest review.

The book follows Chance and Lacy’s story. They meet as children when Lacy moves in next door. They become best friends. We get to follow in dual POV as they grow and change, with one change being a big one. Instead of drifting them apart, it brings them closer together. This is a great story for those who grew up in the 90s to have a flashback to childhood memories and reference. Cute story!

This has to be the warmest and coziest book I have ever read. The writing style was truly unique, and it captivated so much. I felt like I was actually watching Chance and Lacey grow up and go through the changes that come with growing up. Their love story is one I treasure as it displayed so much depth. Their love blossomed even before they knew what it was and watching them hold onto each other when they were faced with real struggles was everything. The dual pov, 90’s aesthetic, and friends-to-lovers is pure chef’s kiss. I simply couldn’t get enough of this book and will most definitely be rereading it. I will cherish this book and the undeniable/timeless love between Chance and Lacey.

This book was so hard for me to rate. Especially since my standards have changed throughout the year. But this book was an enjoyable read, a very cute story about a boy and a girl, who grow up with each other as best friends. This novel shows how although people change, friendships can stay the same, and even grow stronger. I love how the book actually addresses the transition from childhood to adolescence, and shines light on the struggles that both characters face. The novel reminded me of the film 'Flipped', as it shared the same vibes and same aspects. One thing I also admired was how the author represented the characters age's through their diary entries, as the way they would speak or behave in the beginning was a lot more innocent and childlike, whereas towards the end, they sounded a lot more mature. I also liked the time period this novel was set in, I haven't read many books set in the 90s, so it was refreshing to read about this time period, instead of hearing stories from real-life (if that makes sense).
The ending was just... wow. I can't really explain it, but I did enjoy it. I expected the novel to end with them still in the present time, as teens or even a little older, but I wasn't expecting that much older, and it was actually kinda nice!!

Anyways, highly recommend for anyone who's looking for a lighthearted, friends-to-lovers, 90s nostalgia novel, and a fast paced and intruiging novel for anyone who may be in a slump like I kinda was haha!


ALSO: this was like the third book in a row that I've read that has a male character who plays soccer. What a coincidence hehe!

I'll start by saying that Chance and Lacey are going to stay with me for a long time. This book was so different from Delany's previous series, but they both have one thing in common: I had major book hangover. With this one, I woke my husband in the middle of the night after I finished reading it, just so I could tell him it destroyed my soul in the best way and I wasn't sure how to move on. (He did not have any helpful advice.)
As for the storyline itself, Delany has crafted an ADORABLE cast of characters. Along with Rafe from the TNT trilogy, I've put in a request to adopt Theodore too. Chance and Lacey are hilarious and mischievous kids in the beginning, and we get to see them go through all of the hard parts of growing up. They're faced with additional challenges (which I won't spoil), but their love for each other is always at the forefront of every decision, whether they realize it or not.
I made it through the entire book laughing, smiling, cheering for them, relating to so many of the 90s references... then the last two chapters went and destroyed me forever. Like I said, in the best way.
You'll have to read it to find out for yourself, though. Highly recommend.

This story was adorable. I loved seeing the decades of love growing and overcoming hard things that were within and out of their control. The POV was unique in being mostly from Chance, and Lacey's POV comes by way of adorable diary entries. This was such a fun read and the characters will stick with my for a long time to come.
