David Willis is no stranger to the world of webcomics, having started his first series, Roomies!, in 1997. Including Roomies!, he has five webcomics series under his belt, such as the sci-fi drama It’s Walky!, its more domestic sequel Joyce and Walky!, Shortpacked!, a look at action figures and pop culture, and Dumbing of Age, a story about college freshman. In 2005, he and other leading cartoonists formed the webcomics collective Blank Label Comics.

Raised in La Porte, Indiana, David Willis graduated from the Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg, Illinois with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. After college, he escaped the frighteningly-empty cornfields and hicks of Indiana to the frighteningly-empty cornfields and hicks of Ohio.

David Willis currently resides with his wife Maggie in Columbus, Ohio, where he surrounds himself with more Transformers toys than he can bother to count.

Vol. 2 is much better than Vol. 1. Willis even says so in the beginning of his book. It's no where near as good as Dumbing of Age but it does get better even if it does take awhile to get there.

To be honest, I don't think I would get Shortpacked if I wasn't already ordering Dumbing of Age. Don't get me wrong. I like Shortpacked and I relate to a lot of it since I love Transformers, once worked in a toy store, and collected far too many toys. But the humor or writing isn't as sharp as DoA.

I'm hoping that it'll pick up since Willis does obviously improve as a writer. Plus, since the drama tag got pulled, so I expect things will get better.
