Presenting spiritual teachings previously known to few on this planet, this book contains lessons that are based on the legendary 20th-century revelatory document known as The Urantia Book . These exercises bring the Urantia Revelation to life, unveiling for the first time the spiritual essence of this underground masterpiece in a series of practical lessons that simplify and amplify its majestic teachings. This unusual book of celestial wisdom shows that the spiritual path must eventually lead to the divine center within, the indwelling light that corresponds with the transcendent light of God. The 130 lessons restate the original teachings of Jesus--as presented in The Urantia Book --within a startling new cosmological framework.

The Teaching Mission is a not-well-publicized phenomenon wherein multiple Urantia Book reading groups all over the world were approached by celestial teachers communicating via a "transmitting-receiving" method. The earliest transmissions came in 1991 and this book was published in 1998, but it is hard to dig up more recent information. I was not a Urantia Book reader in the 90s, but the lady who gave me this book said she was there, and it was real.
This book pairs quotations from the Urantia Book with transmissions from a celestial named Will that were interpreted by Fred Harris. Having never experienced "transmitting-receiving" I don't feel qualified to make a judgement, but I also don't find the communication method unrealistic. We humans have done so much speculating about how extraterrestrials might make contact - the Teaching Mission would be a much more subtle introduction. I will only say that the core teachings of this book are to take time for spiritual reflection and try to be nice, with a strong emphasis on Jesus and his heavenly Father. It doesn't seem like that could be bad.
My study of the Urantia Book has opened my awareness of an entire genre of extraterrestrial literature; although not-well-publicized, there are apparently multitudes of benevolent extraterrestrial civilizations now working with our planet. To my knowledge, the hundreds of celestials participating in this Teaching Mission do not claim kinship with the Revelators of the Urantia Book. Although they explicitly use the Urantia Book, the Teaching Mission is said to be a subset of the Correcting Time (11:11), a much more vast project concerned with fostering planetary evolution. Whereas the Urantia Book provides important context to the entire past history of our world, lessons in this book focus on the present moment and making these spiritual ideals practical. I have found it inspiring in a lot of way. Whether or not it was from extraterrestrials, I hesitate to say.
