Tom is a long-time fan of science fiction and fantasy, and has failed spectacularly to grow out of his obsession with things that don’t, in the strictest sense of the word, exist. He studied Philosophy and Economics at Edinburgh University. He now lives and works in London helping to build very big ships. The City’s Son is his first novel.
I like longer books.I get more for my money most the time.this book, though, dragged through its length.it's ok.not great and not terrible.there wasn't any time that the book begged me to keep reading.there's actually a minor role held by the icebreak though the whole story hinges on it.and there's a little too much new age thought for my liking.I'm glad I'm done with this book but not sorry I read it.average
