So you can tell where my head is right now. Chris writes about 5 or 6 of his early walks, and it is interesting to see how he got into long distance backpacking. He started with the Pennine Way, then John O'Groats to Land's End, and very quickly went on to walk the Pacific Trail and Continental Divide Trail. The latter is a 3,100 mile walk from Canada to Mexico. It's pretty staggering.
This book is some of Chris' earliest writing, and either he or his editors weren't hot on the use of the poor old comma. Consequently it is a surprisingly hard read. Its amazing how poor grammar really slows the reader down. (She writes, making several grammatical errors, no doubt!)
