Written by a board-certified pediatrician who is also a father of three, The Everything® Father’s First Year Book continues right where the Everything® Father-to-Be Book left off. Dads often know little about the care of an infant, but in this day and age it has become very common for men to take on a more significant role than they did in the past. This authoritative work offers a wealth of advice for guys on what to do—from figuring out the car seat and stroller to changing diapers to getting the child to sleep. The Everything® Father’s First Year Book includes important information on how Know when to help out and when to stay out of the way; Prepare financially for the first year and beyond; Manage work and family life.
Good basic information about your baby's first year. Some of the information might seem common sense, but the reason we are reading these kind of books is to have some piece of mind in the most difficult time of our baby's life. Easy to read and mainly a reference book, it fails nevertheless to cover extensively the different treatments for various possible baby's diseases. This book is just an overview of what awaits new fathers (and mothers) in that first year, but it is not a substitute for more detailed and specialized books on the subject.
If you're going to have a kid soon, or have just had one, it might be an interesting read. I don't recommend reading it for insight into how life will change upon the arrival of a child someday.
