Just when a woman's learned how to wind her way through a life of temp jobs and commitment-phobic boyfriends, she has to face the biggest nightmare yet--turning 30. What with everything on that To Do Before 30 list still left undone and and the biological clock ticking all too loudly, even the most sensible chicks come a little unglued when their fourth decade is upon them.
Luckily, humor writer Julie Tilsner is here to help. A Business Week editor who ditched New York City and a successful career for a kibbutz in Israel when the big day closed in on her, Tilsner recounts her experience and those of many other women in this pithy, insightful, and uproarious self-help book.
not to be hung up on age or anything, but i couldn't resist this under $1.00 at the used bookstore. a lot of it is just cheesy, but there are some messages that resonate. definitely would never have paid full price!
Nope. As someone who is turning 30 in a few months, I thought this would be helpful or entertaining. I found it dated and boring. Author is very self centered, lots of this book is more like a diary. We all live different lives, and unless you’re a city gal working a city job like journalism you won’t relate to this book. Glad I figured shit out years ago so I didn’t have to when I was cusping on 30 like the author. Live your life and have your own goals and you’ll be fine. Don’t waste your time on this book. Age is just a number. Follow your dreams and heart, treat your body decent, and then 30 won’t scare you. Byeeeee
I really enjoyed this book. I've been kinda freaking out about turning 30, and this book helped calm my fears. The book is about 15 years old so a lot of the cultural references are out of date, but that doesn't hurt the overall message. I definitely recommend it for any girl struggling with turning 30!
Turning 30 wasn't a big deal to me but a friend got this for me a few months before the big day as a gag. Fun light silly read, especially in light of the big tragedy that is made out of women turning 30.
Eh. I made it to 30, and life seems okay. This is a fun little book if you are worried about turning 30. Lot's of lists - and I love lists. So far, 30 isn't bad!
Not a book to be taken seriously. The author does illustrate some key issues and thoughts going through every 29 year old's mind. Not great, just something to read and pass the time.
