I just read this weekly chapter by chapter to an intimate group of 4 friends. We had some deep conversations, prayer and commitment as we read. This is an awesome book for ones willing to pay the price to really walk with Christ.
Charles describes three types of Christians and the third category is the Crucified Ones. I feel it is a must read for all who are serious about God as we see this life as we know it come to a close and go on to the tribulation and all that happens in end time prophesy after that.
I am actually a pretrib person and I believe we are at the cusp of a great and terrible time soon to begin. There is much more to do than standing at a door with a lamp ready and a extra flask of oil. They are virgins remember. I feel I am not a virgin, but a wife of Christ. I feel I have loved Him fully for years now and know pretty much how to run His household as He pleases.
Now another thing we can be mature and a wife as it were but are we a Michael? An Eve? A Abigail? An Rachel, or Rebecca? Hannah? What kind of wife are we?
I want to be the perfect spotless one in Paul's writings of a Bride. I think it can be applied to a wife as well. I just know I was challenged by this book and we cannot do it in ourselves it must be done thru His spirit, power and strength. Read the book and see what I mean if you want to do more than warm a pew or answer altar calls week after week or just squeak in the gates. As for me I want it all, but there is a price to pay and can we do it? I know I can't if it depends on me. But thru Christ I can do all things thru Him who strengthens me. May I be in that number......selah
