(After a reread done 7/1/2018) ~ Yep, I still adored Reece and Keeley. Keeley is freaking adorable and I loved his little spitfire self!

Now book two was much more fun! I love a toppy bottom and Keeley is definitely that. Reece is hot, sexy alpha male. The fact that he's never been with a guy before leads to a fun instructional session.
All in all a most fun read!

I'm giving every book in this series two stars because they're badly written and the characters are all obnoxious clichés, but the story is interesting enough for me to want to find out what happens in the next one.

typical stormy glenn romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical stormy glenn? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).

laziness dictates i will use this as my template for all books by the following authors unless a book is remarkably good/bad :

Even if Reece's not gay...he never had anal sex with a woman?...Never look a porn movie or magazine?...Never used internet to search about it??? Don't buy it one second. That's ridiculous. That's taking the reader to an idiot. In the case of a woman and vaginal sex, she must be a little lubricated, if not it's can hurt, so if you just change Keeley for a woman (really easy thing to do since he is already a woman-with-cock cliche)...how Reece just plunge his cock inside him (her for my example) CAN bless him. As if he didn't know how to do it properly. It's burn and it's can bleed. Not an intelligent move.

And maybe I'm lucky, but I'd never new a guy that didn't have a bottle of lub or some K-Y and I knew a lot of guy (not necessary a good think, but, oh well!)

And when Keeley explained that they're a place inside Reece ass that's call the sweet spot...WTF??? Don't try to make me believe that the guy don't know about his prostate. Maybe he never play with it, that's ok, but that he don't know about it?...No, no, no! Seriously, they are limits to take the reader to an...idiot (ho I have to repeat myself lol)

And the whole 'falling in love' after two round of sex??? That's reacting like a naive teenager. Add to that that the guy said that after Reece treat him like a piece of shit. Did he suffered of some battered woman complex???

"Okay, okay. Have you tried just talking to the guy? Asking him what he wants? Maybe he likes flowers and jewelry and stuff like that. Maybe he’d like to be romanced, cuddled and kissed. Some men do, you know, and it doesn’t mean that they are any less of a man. We all need to feel wanted, Reece, even men."
Yeah, the key word he is SOME, but the majorities do not love to be romanced or nothing of that sort. But, hey, Keeley's not really a man so he doesn't count.

This writer seems to like writing 'womanized' bottom. In the first book, the guy love to be the housewife and in this book, the guy's a wannabe femme. Don't read me wrong, I'm all for differences...when it's well wrote and seems natural, not only there to make the personage week and feminine.

And please, can Keeley just stop crying one minute...?

Good point for Reece...he want to try and be versatile. Not that you have to be, but the fact that he WANT it make him a little more sympathetic.

Why Reece is the new Alpha? I understood that he challenged the last Alpha because he beat a human, but where he is from? He do not know the persons in this pack. apart the Morgan's brothers...

'Keeley and Nate both giggled.'
Ok.....so the two bottom giggle??? Another proof that they are not really considerate like a man.

And when Keeley take Nate by the hand and go in his room to share confidences???????? O.o
Ho....another thing normally associated with female teenager.

And even if the old Alpha was part of the plan, plus some families, not all of the pack members were on it...How can 270 members can disappear without someone said something before.....Please, in a close community, fives members disappears and it's a drama. I just can't see them never thalk about it between themselves or trying to ask for the help of others packs, as Joe and his father did when ONE members (a human) was in danger in the previous book. 270 members that were supposedly not accepted....the percentage's that's make's astronomical. And before the old Alpha time, this ritual of 'acceptation' was not practiced, as I understood...the older members of the pack didn't said anything when the disappearance started? The parents just accepted it, never question the fact that they never received new of their child??? How much years did that need to make all of this people disappears??? They don't have legal existences??? Try to stop declaring incomes and paying taxes ans see if the governments don't search for you a little. More if it's all in the same region.

Too much cliche, too much incoherence. Lack of everything but sex.
Didn't like it.

This is what I think of the book.
I had forgotten how much I liked this set of books. It is a bite sized piece of loveliness. I loved how it related to the first book and that we got to see Nate and Joe again. I will be getting the rest of this series and look forward to finding out who will mate with whom.

Excellent second book in a series. Keeley is an absolutely wonderful character. Fun, energetic, feisty. I'll never look at cookie sheets the same way again! ;) Keely is just what Reece needs to shake up his preconceived notions about how a man should behave and find true happiness. Excellent pairing. I loved their interaction! The story line was fast paced and easily held my attention. I had to read this one more than once, for the fun factor alone! Pure entertainment!

So i will tell you a secret: this book used be one of my favs from this series. In the past because i don't finished the reread. It was impossible. This book has the same problems of the one. Ohhh i think that Keeley has some personality or is this quirks? Because i think that some authors has a idea that quirks and personalities are the same. Well, in a nutshell Reece and Joe are the same character. Both are domineering, both are machos alphas and very mainly. And Keeley is Nate with quirks and sometime he has premonitions. Not in the book, what would be very cool. Is needed to say that Keeley can cook? Well the kitchen ir he space, right? Wait... the theme will be repeated.
What made me dnf this book? Well was a conversation between Nate and Keeley about the fact of Keeley being feminine and the conclusion was that because they had a up bringing so strange then they never learned what is right for a man or not. Ohhh boy, this not aged well. But i will give Ms. Glenn some excuse because this book is from 2009. And sometimes looks like another world if compares to ten years ago. Better in some side and worse in anothers. But i sincerily expect that theses men (straight, gay or bi) who wants contacts with his more feminine sides don't be excluded as man or be put how there are take wrong in the his way of manlyhood or bs like this.

2014 Re-read:

I can’t decide whether I liked this or whether it was merely okay. Lots of problems but also some redeeming moments.

For example, continuity is kicked in the soft bits. So… bonding is possible even if someone's not your mate? Otherwise what is that vampire at the start going on about? And the mating requires a blood exchange? Does this mean the guys from book one never really mated? And after this kind of mating, the shifter can't get it up anymore for someone else? I thought in a later book there was this guy who mated drunk and then forgot about it to go on his merry way. (Although for all I know he might have been rendered impotent. I will certainly find out soon for sure.)

Oh, but I kid myself. One of the main irritants I recalled about this series is that lore gets thrown over with each book. I should just lean back and let it go. After all, there’s much more intrusive stuff to worry about.

Early on there are a ton and a half of consent issues that never are acknowledged. Incidentally they sort of coincide with Keeley's switching things around on Reece - which makes for a much more interesting story. That lasts all of a moment before jerk syndrome kicks in again. That pattern more or less continues from that point on. Something feels interesting or even nice or funny (usually involving Keeley), and promptly an embarrassingly stupid or clumsy bit spoils the effect.

Such as people knowing things they have not been told. This happens constantly.

POVs are on speed and the writing is awful, as is the storytelling and in particular the pacing (longest evening ever, during which lots of tense action is required, yet Reece manages to be so slow about getting the actually important things done that he might as well have been a big piece of rock). I am glad the author (mostly) improved later on. Really, really glad!

And I am not entirely sure on this but I do think a lot of her protagonists later on, while still somewhat quirky and/or following the stereotypical pairing, aren’t quite so obviously stand-ins for heterosexual couples. No joke. Nate and Keeley both have the damsel thing down pat. In both of these first two books we have a big, dominant and sometimes jerkish guy, paired with a tiny, physically delicate, vulnerable and/or feisty person with male bits who actually conforms to an outdated variant of the clichéd weak heroine. I don’t think you can get away with writing female protagonists in such needy ways these days. I dunno. (And no, Keeley’s penchant for nail polish and makeup has nothing to do with this; his love of colours appeals to me.)

Maybe someone who is into this type of dynamic might appreciate it here. I sure as hell would appreciate it more if it at least was written better, so that the good parts were allowed to shine.

I just really don’t know what to think now. At least this book was definitely better than the first.

2011 Review:

Same issues as in book one. Retcon on the fly is the name of the game. *shrugs* Aside from that and several logical fuckups it was a nice enough read. Amusing, to be sure, and the characters were even likeable. Another bonus point was the type of relationship. Despite one being big and dominant and one effeminate and tiny, this was an equal opportunity thing, which actually extended to the sex. That always pleases me.

Of course the sheer mass of people again emerging as gay was laughable. But whatever. I like the guy who might be scheduled up for the next book, but with so many of the side chars getting together off-screen despite their story sounding interesting I can’t be entirely sure. Whatever.

Eh, I seem to be getting used to the annoyances to the point where I can blend them out for the most part. As it is, I would actually like to read the next book in this series but that's not an option right now, so there.

Goin’ back to sleep now.

This is book 2 in the series. Straight alpha Quilliam Reese (who is usually referred to as Reese and it took me forever to really grasp his first name) is at the bar checking out the chicks when he sees an adorable guy come in and head to the bathroom. He also sees someone follow him and despite his better judgment goes to the rescue. Seems there are vampires who coexist with the weres and for some reason Reese feels compelled to save the guy, not only save him but he bites him and mates with him right there in the bathroom. So he basically kidnaps Keely and takes him home with him having sex (first buttsecks ever) in the truck. Keely is one of the captive guys from the first book although you only meet him here. Keely is waving the rainbow flag high, adores wearing nail polish, has a feather boa, etc. Despite himself Reese falls in love and loves Keely as he is. However there is some weird shit going on and Keely is attacked by pack members and it has to do with supplying the vampires with were blood which is an aphrodisiac.

Keely was a great character. When Reese and Devlin his beta who lives with him have a fight Keely goes nuts on them with the cookie sheets and isn’t afraid to voice his opinion. It’s also Keely’s friends who manage to save the day at the end of the day. There were no blatant errors like the last one but one things is they have this knot in their penis that locks them with their mate a la dogs. But they talk about the knot being at the end of the penis and that it stimulates the prostate. Okay, I’m not all up on my male anatomy, but I thought the prostate was located only a couple of inches inside (I could google this but I’m lazy – I’ve seen enough videos to fake it), and if the guy has a typical romance penis it is at LEAST 7 inches, probably more. So if the penis is full lodged in the guy’s ass with a knot at the END, then there would be zero prostate stimulation unless it was at the BASE like a canine (or similar to a butt plug) where the stimulation would be greater. I don’t know, if you’re going to use animal traits, use them right. But hey, it’s not my world.

I was not expecting for Reece and Keely to be the second story in this series; in the Wolf Creek Pack book 1 Stormy Glenn introduced a lot of interesting characters and possible couples, but here she decided to go out from that circle and introducing a new element, Reece, the Alpha of a small neighbor pack.

Reece is not really interested in being an Alpha leader and truth be told the author didn’t explain how he became one, other than saying that he challenged the previous Alpha: but why he did so if he has not the streak to be a leader? How he came to be part of that pack, since he was not born into it? That is not part of the story.

At the beginning of the novel Reece is prowling for a one night partner, a woman, in a local pub. But when Keely, little cute man, enters the pub, Reece knows that his life will change forever: Keely is his mate, and doesn’t matter that he is a man, and Reece has never been attracted to men before, Nature made its call, and Reece has to answer.

The strong Alpha man and little cute flamboyant gay boy is a classic of Stormy Glenn; she really likes to play the cuteness card, her bottom boy are almost always fragile, pretty but also very stubborn, to the limit of being brats. What probably make them nice and not obnoxious is that they are plenty aware of that, and are able to play with they big, strong men in a way that make them the real leader of the couple: Reece will surrender to his little man, in every possible way, even during sex; this is a prove that Keely can be pretty and flamboyant, but he is not a girl. Keely likes nails polish, tight jeans and eyeliner, but he is plenty aware that he is a boy, not a girl, and he knows how to use his man attributes, when necessary. Only that, if he has a strong man as Reece beside him, he sees no reason to not making him doing the hard work, so that he can enjoy the privileges of being cherished and loved.

This is book two of the Wolf Creek Pack. In this book, we meet Keeley and Reece. I really like Keeley and his feisty spirit. Just watch out for Keeley and cookie sheets. LOL I liked Reece because he is willing to stand by Keeley when others of his pack my not except him.

Reece is out at the local bar prowling for the night. What he doesn't expect, is Keeley. Reece has never been attractive towards a man until that night. Keeley is a shorter attractive man that comes into the bar. Reece notices a creepy man follow Keeley into the bathroom. Reece can't explain it himself, but the moment he set his eyes on him, he felt the need to protect him. He ends up not just saving Keeley, but he claiming him as his mate. Not sure who is more surprised, Keeley or Reece.

Keeley, has no idea what just happened. He walked into the bathroom, be attacked by not one but two guys. But guy number two is very attractive. He ends up being 'kidnapped' and taken home with Reece. In fact, before they even get home, they end up hooking up.

Reece is the alpha of his pack and he knows that not all his pack will be happy that his mate is a male, but he won't give up Keeley for anything or anyone. Luckily his right hand man Devlin is very supportive of his new feisty mate.

When Reece finally tells Keeley what he is and that they are mated, he is surprised by Keeley's reaction. But just as they figure out there new relationship and what being mated means, trouble is on the horizon. They find out that there are traitors close by and want Keeley out of the picture. Just how far will Reece go to protect not just Keeley but his pack also.

Keeley and Reece. Well, I was quite confused because I didn't remember either of them from the first book, then Keeley mentioned Nate and I was like "Ohhh". It worked out from there, I guess.

So Reece is sitting in a bar minding his own business when he suspects something going down in the bathroom and low and behold, sure enough his MATE is being attacked. Except his mate is a man and Reece is straight. Things get interesting from there regarding that aspect and I can totally understand Keeley's question of whether "do you like me because I am me or because I am your mate?" It's true for all of these mate stories right? How do you really know, right?

This gets interesting though because Keeley is attacked in his own kitchen, but it's not only the attack that's weird, but WHO did it (and who's all in on it).

How did Reece not know his own pack? I get he's only been there for 3 months, but there's only 30 people, he should know them by now.

Overall, it was cute. Love the cookie sheets ;)

Reece is the Alpha of his pack, so image his surprise to realize his mate is Keeley, a petite little man. Reece has been living his life up to this point as a straight man, so he doesn’t understand why he is fated to be with a man.

So when Keeley comes into the bar that Reece happens to be, he can’t seem to take his eyes off of him. And when trouble follows Keeley into the restroom, Reece follows to protect his future mate.

The whole mating process, Keeley easily complies with, letting Reece bite him as well as drinking his blood in return. No questions asked. And at this point neither of them knows the others name.

The two of them feel their way around each other in this relationship. Reece having never been with a man before, is untrained in the aspects of lovemaking with a man and has to rely on Keeley to show him the ropes. Keeley on the other hand is constantly getting upset and offended by everything Reece says or does, which leads to a lot of time in which Keeley spent sulking.

The two finally get it together and make a rather enjoyable read. The secondary characters prove to be of great interest as well.

I have mixed feelings about this book; I liked the characters and the fact that it continued nicely from the previous book in the series. The plot, however, I just expected more from. Based on the description of the book I really thought there might be more angst or something between the two MCs, especially since Reese was straight before meeting Keely. That wasn't the case, however, and he was happily converted over to the ways of gay sex before 20% of the book had passed. A lot of times I don't mind the insta-love but this book, for some reason, just seemed too fast even for that. There were also inconsistencies with some of the actions being taken; they just didn't fit with how anyone would normally act. Like, 'oh hey, we're in danger but lets stop and have sex really quick.' This could've been a whole lot better if some depth had been given to the plot and if there had just been less sex.

Book two in the series was a little better than book 1. Keely reminded a bit of Keeton from Gabriel Evan's Moonlight Breeding bk2 except a little less flamboyant and outgoing and more weepy. Storyline was pretty consistent until readers get to the climax where it just seems rushed.

This book confused me greatly at start with the mention of bloodsuckers and that this story isn't about the original wolf creek pack. This story was awesome. With the main character Reece being straight but mated to keeley a guy was interesting to read. I loved the cookie sheet bit had me lol. I really enjoy the storyline kept me guessing. Which isn't the norm for me.

Another quick read better than the first. Nate was adorable I loved him. Again the romance between the two character for me wasn't believable but,it was still good. I feel like it needed to be longer though it was clear that things were rushed and omitted. There were clearly some holes but not enough to make you confused or anything.

4.5 stars, this one I enjoyed much more than book one, I felt it was written better and didn't over explain things too much. I think it helped that Keeley's powers weren't really a big thing in the story it only really came up once or twice and was more about the problems in the pack Reece was leading.

A really great story and I'm glad I gave it another chance because I want to continue now!

This was cute. It wasn't great, but it was cute. Keeley was a trip, I actually loved him. There were some plot holes. I know these are meant to be short novellas, but some things just happened way too fast. And there were time jumps that confused me a little. But I liked it enough to want to see if Devlin finds himself a.mate in Wolf Creek.
