Step into a world where robots rule. Quirky, amusing androids of every shape, size, and color turn reality on its ear. You won't want to leave life among the machines.
Robots Everywhere is a story that talks about a "robot-filled" world and what those robots do. The author starts off by telling us what the robots look like and the different things that they do. The robots are compared to humans in those aspects. The author uses many different plays on words, such as "Bolts 'R' Us" and "Beware of Cog". In using this language, it helps the children relate better to the story and the characters that are introduced. The story goes on by tellin the reader about different places that robots can go to and what they do at those places. You do not find out until the end that the narrator is a human child and that everything he describes is just a dream. The age range for this story is for children in pre-k to first grade. The reason that I believe this is the age range is because of the sentence structure. The lanuage may be a little harder for the younger children, but the illustrations do a great job of explaining what the author is talking about. The story definitely has a rhythm and rhyme when you read this out loud, which keeps children interested. The illustrations used could be done by using colored pencils and are pretty creative. The lines used are very thin and precise, and the pictures are very busy. There is a lot of attention to detail, but not to texture since there really is not much texture when it comes to metal robots. This book is hilarious and I will definitely recommend this to parents and teachers alike.
Imagine a world populated by robots! They'd do all the same sorts of things humans do, but with a robot twist! Ink illustrations really capture the humor of the story from all the funny faces the robots have to their sunburns on the beach!
Hands down, one of my fave robot picture books for PreK-2.
