I was surprised that I liked this book so much...it's fun and actually has some practical advice. The author is really funny. I had forgotten about this book (I read it before I was married)but I saw a clip on FunnyorDie.com today with Diane Farr hosting and it was called "Ass Castles,"...LOL..she was giving expert advice to a rich guy who can't get "quality" women. It was stupid funny and worth checking out for a giggle! Made me want to read her book again now that I'm back on the dating scene. Ouch.
This was ok, but neither funny not insightful enough to really stand out. And the version I read had tons of distracting typos. But at least it was short.
This book is as funny as it is familiar.. ^*^A woman is like a tea bag: you can't see how strong she is until you see her in hot water^*^ —ELEANOR ROOSEVELT Go get your dreams, girls..
I normally would never have picked up a book like this, but I remember liking Diane Farr from her stint on Loveline, so I thought, what the hell? It's a quick read, as its mostly just little quips and anecdotes based on the "collected wisdom" of the common female experience. Of course, as a female, I found that I've never used any of her "typical" vocabulary for describing guys and in a way, felt like the typical girl being described was more a stereotype of the single gal rather than someone I could relate to. Don't get me wrong, there are a couple of pages that made me chuckle. But overall, I was not impressed.

New thoughts: Cute book but really not the best relationship advice though.
Original review: I was surprised by how enjoyable this little book was. Though it is a little dated in its advice I would say that the witticisms rang true for me. I dog eared my favorite passages and will take this advice as I see fit. Relationship trouble got you down? Pick up the girl code.
Very mildly amusing, but not very helpful. Most slang used is either out-of-date, never was used, or would not be used by anyone over the age of seventeen.
