It was bad enough that her partners left shy store owner Dana Malone to scout new retail space with devastatingly handsome Realtor C. J. Turner. Then— wham! —her way-out wayward cousin literally left a baby on Dana's doorstep, and a birth certificate listing C.J. as the father. Raising her ultracute nephew was a dream come true, and as she and C.J. shared baby duties and close quarters until paternity was established, Dana kept her cool.
But every time the commitment-phobe looked at Dana, the yearning in his deep blue eyes provoked a meltdown. Would what started as a small step for Dana's store turn into a giant leap for Dana's love life?

Eeek! Okay, I need to be upfront here. The book was good, very good all through out. I love the strength and morals of the heroine, she was amazing to care for a baby who wasn't biologically hers at all. The hero seemed really weak willed and he seemed pathetic. He didn't want to take any chances or move towards any commitment. Then we hit the epilogue of the book and what the heck!!! What is with this religion crap? I don't enjoy religious books, I have read some that relate to it and they completely turn me off, exactly how this one did. Bang, like a bullet shooting someone dead, that's exactly what this author did to me by having that in the epilogue. What a piss off!
This book was alright for the kind of plot it contains, but the epilogue completely jumped the shark for me. I don't read inspirational/religious books for a reason (I often find their messages pushy and judgmental and always find the whole premise hoaky), and I don't enjoy an author sneaking that stuff in on me at the end of a book. This was never going to be a 4 or 5 star book for me, but the epilogue really did kill the rest of the book for me. I won't be picking up any more of Ms. Templeton's books.
Wonderful! A secret baby story with a twist (or three) that difficult to put down, and an epilogue that readers will love, plus intriguing characters with emotional baggage and great backstories.
