The book provides some analytical tools for off-the-fly and on-the-go policy analysts, making the book an indispensable part of an analyst's arsenal. Patton and Sawicki have also included some case studies to concretize their points. Definitely a must-read for the analyst who is just starting on the job, but has to hit the ground running on the first day.

It's a textbook on public policy and various methods of policy analysis and presentation - what's to think? It was better than the last text I had on policy analysis...

Useful and cogently organized--will continue to visit this text as a resource for approaching various planning problems.
