Prepare to meet thy doom! Okay, not really—but this lighthearted look at how the world might come to an end is completely hilarious! Review simple (and simply funny) solutions to such situations as global warming, the collapse of the financial system, and possible alien invasions. Is the honeybee population declining? Well just train other more readily available creatures (otters, cats, boy scouts) to pollinate the millions of plants! Might computers take over the world? Hey, they’re bound to do a better job than we did. Part science and all fun, We’re All Doomed! will keep us laughing through every life-threatening disaster.
This was published in Britian so it pokes fun at Americans and the U.S. in general which bothered me a bit in the beginning but when I realized this book is poking fun at all the ways the earth could end I got over it. The title page does say "A Light-Hearted Guide to the Forthcoming Multi-Apolalypse". So if I was expecting it to be serious (which I was) that set me straight. The book is divided into scenerios of the world ending according to the probabilities of it actually happening and some are so far off the wall I couldn't help but shake my head over the silliness of some people. Yes, the world is going to end someday and quite possibly by one of these scenerios, but why worry over it? We have no say in it so get over it. It was an enjoyable way to spend my evening and a very quick read.
