About the author

Nicholas Gregory Mankiw is an American macroeconomist who is currently the Robert M. Beren Professor of Economics at Harvard University. Mankiw is best known in academia for his work on New Keynesian economics.
Mankiw has written widely on economics and economic policy. As of February 2020, the RePEc overall ranking based on academic publications, citations, and related metrics put him as the 45th most influential economist in the world, out of nearly 50,000 registered authors. He was the 11th most cited economist and the 9th most productive research economist as measured by the h-index. In addition, Mankiw is the author of several best-selling textbooks, writes a popular blog, and has since 2007 written approximately monthly for the Sunday business section of The New York Times. According to the Open Syllabus Project, Mankiw is the most frequently cited author on college syllabi for economics courses.
Mankiw is a conservative, and has been an economic adviser to several Republican politicians. From 2003 to 2005, Mankiw was Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers under President George W. Bush. In 2006, he became an economic adviser to Mitt Romney, and worked with Romney during his presidential campaigns in 2008 and 2012. In October 2019, he announced that he was no longer a Republican because of his discontent with President Donald Trump and the Republican Party

کتاب مبانی اقتصاد نوشته‌ی منکیو که البته کتاب حجیمی هستش. کتاب دارای فصل‌های زیادی هست که مباحث اقتصادی رو به طور کلی توضیح می‌ده. البته نه اون‌قدر کلی که از مبحث سر در نیاری و جزییات خوبی نداشته باشه. کتاب کاملا جامع هستش و به اکثر موضوعات به خوبی پرداخته شده. این کتاب رو به خاطر واحد مدیریت و اقتصاد که باید پاس می‌کردم خوندم و منبع درسیم بود اما خیلی خوشحالم که لااقل مجبور به این‌کار شدم چون اطلاعات ارزشمند و بنیادی‌ای رو در مورد اقتصادهای سیاست‌های مختلف در اختیارم قرار می‌داد و می‌شد وضع موجود رو کمی بهتر تحلیل کرد. به عنوان کتابی این‌چنینی در سطح اولیه بی‌نظیر هستش و حتما پیشنهاد می‌شه.

درکل کتاب خوبی برای درک مفاهیم ابتدایی اقتصاد است. برای شروع مطالعه علم اقتصاد کمک کننده است تنها ایرادی که به کتاب وارد است این است که در بعضی موارد اشتباه مترجم باعث اختلال در تمرکز خواننده میشود اما ذهن خواننده خیلی از مبحث اصلی دور نمیشود. شاید کتاب با یک ویراستاری بتواند امتیاز بیشتری بگیرد.

I would recommend to beginners of economics.
Basis of economics are covered in the text.
Especially 10 large principle of economics is a must-read.

کتاب تقریبا همون چیزی بود که من دنبالش بودم
مناسب کسی که پایه ی خوبی از این علم نداره و میخواد یاد بگیره چطور توی این فضا فکر و تحلیل کنه. برای من تجربه ی شیرینی بود چون یسری مفاهیم کاملا برام نو بودن و این حس یک دنیای جدید تجربه ی زنده کننده ای بود!

کتاب جامعی بود و البته با ترجمه خوب. کتاب علاوه بر متنشامل نکات و نتیجه گیری های انتهای هر فصل نیز بود.

بعنوان کسی که هیچ ربطی به اقتصاد نداره خواندن این کتاب بسیار طول کشید و ملال آور بود اما خالی از نکات مثبت نبود
اقتصاددانان اجتماع نظر ندارند.
گوشه های اقتصاد اونقدر زیاده که هر طرف رو بگیری باز از یه جایی در میره.
اقتصاد اونقدر به همه چی ربط داره که پیش بینی اون میتونه سخت ترین کار باشه.
در پایان فکر میکنم ارائه و اداره اقتصادی که جوابگوی یک جامعه باشه چیزی شبیه به بند بازی توی ارتفاعه.
