The first St Andrews Conference on Scripture and Theology (2005) brought leading biblical scholars and systematic theologians together in conversation, helping to bridge a growing gap between the two disciplines. The essays here consider John's Gospel from many angles, addressing a number of key issues that arise from a theological discussion of this text: John's dualism in our pluralist context, historicity and testimony, the treatment of Judaism, Christology, and more.

Excellent book published by Eerdmans; best essay/article/lecture is by Martin Hengel "The Prologue of the Gospel of John as the Gateway to Christological Truth". It is a 2008 collection of materials with the common theme-topic of the 4th Gospel and Systematic Theology. I also greatly admired the essay near the end (pp. 369-81) by Jurgen Moltmann (Tubingen, Germany) that concerned "God in the World -- the World in God / Perichoresis in Trinity and Eschatology". It relates a bit of the changes in theological emphases from 1960 to the 1980 systematic theology THE TRINITY & THE KINGDOM.
