Cracking read, Wingate was a true visionary and father of the modern IDF where his uncompromising standards of excellence and bravery continue to be celebrated. Hated by the British establishment who unsuccessfully attempted to sully his incredible war record. He showed up the cowardice, incompetence and ignorance of the clique of Indian Army British officers who very nearly lost the war in the East and were humiliated by the Japanese. Wingate continues to offer lessons from the past to the leadership of the British Army who have presided yet again over its decent into mediocrity. It seems very little changes.
