Understand My Muslim People

Rate this book
For many Americans, questions, concerns, and misunderstandings surround the world's fastest-growing religion-Islam. Abraham Sarker, born and raised a devout Muslim, knows Islam and understands Muslim people. While Sarker was being trained as an Islamic leader, God miraculously opened his eyes and touched his heart with the gospel of Jesus Christ. He shares his story, then provides a clear description of the history, beliefs, and practices of Islam. Sarker concludes by giving us a better understanding of the Muslim mind-set and offers practical strategies Christians can use to engage in productive dialogue with Muslims.

This was a book for class. It was good, but still a textbook, and textbooks are not really my jam. I did learn a lot, though, so that was nice.

Dr. Sarker provides a respectful treatment of Islam and Muslims from the perspective of a former Muslim who became a Christian. Where other Christian accounts seem to major in fear mongering, Sarker majors in relating basic facts of Islam.

The strengths of this book are his careful and straightforward presentation, direct comparisons between Islam and Christianity, simple suggestions for relating to Muslims, and Sarker's testimony.

Audrey gave this to me. The author spoke at her church. I found it very interesting, but it made me question how man can just devise a religion and then it becomes so compelling. I have a better understanding of Muslim, but still feel that Jesus is my Savior and that Christianity has more conclusive evidence for being the true faith

Very informative about the basics of Islam, but the most interesting part was Dr. Sarker's personal story of transformation and sacrifice. This book is definitely written to a Christian audience and includes guidelines to help Christians share their faith with Muslims.
