The plot continues, with the hunt for the third minion of Belzat. Some surface world shenanigans as well.
I wonder if Eddie isn't giving his surface world stuff enough attention. He seems to be using someone who he doesn't like for his business instead of looking for someone. Strange.
Also, very bold to touch a being who historically from fiction can suck out your soul. Almost extra minutes points from that.
Some editing issues but still solid. Looking forward to the next one
Eddie continues to develop his dynasty on the surface and the Gloom. We see Eddie continue to develop his business, now working on a shooting range, and adding additional homes to his investments. Eddie is able to take Tanya under his wing and introduce her into the Gloom, surprisingly in a platonic way. But not to be disappointed, we do see him add two new ladies to his group. We are able to begin to see Gwen the spiran start to develop a style and personality a well. Eddie continues his quest in the Gloom to eradicate the minions of Belzat. We find a new minion in Sigrith the Succubus, although she is not entirely what she seems. These books continue to be very entertaining. I was concerned where Mr. Jacobs would take the series once Ursenger was defeated but I have been pleasantly rewarding for trusting in his vision. I can not wait for the next book to see what Eddie does on the surface, does he finally push Brock out of the curl-de-sac, and will he finally rid the Gloom of Belzat’s influence.
*********************************** ***** POSSIBLE SPOILERS ***** ***** FOR BOOKS 1-8 ***** *********************************** As the title indicates, this is book 9 in a series, and you need to have read the previous books. This is not as much a series of multiple novels, as it is one huge novel written in multiple installments.
I am enjoying this series, I'm not normally a big fan of harem fantasy, but Mr. Jacob's story is an exception. Instead of being poorly written smut, he writes an actual story that includes sex between consenting adults which, while at times it takes a certain artistic license with things like male stamina, is an entertaining experience.
Amazing book and new entry into the Backyard Dungeon series!
With a new lead on the third minion of the Demon Lord, Eddie and his friends and family return to the twilight region and encounter new does and friends alike.
But with preparations for his family on the surface and the holiday season around the corner, there are a few twists and a dash of matchmaking to keep you entertained...
And with a new potential ally and a disturbing revelation, I'm eager for the next book!
Logan Jacobs has done it again. Book 9 in his Backyard Dungeon series is another triumphant romp through the underground world of the Gloom and the Twilight, and the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. Adventure, romance and a new kind of family building--multiple hot wives who love each other and their shared husband, our narrator/hero Eddie Hill. There are spicy, explicit scenes, but this is not a sex book. It's a great story with plot-driven intimate encounters as part of the mix. I love this series, waiting for BYD - 10.
Good read went very fast. Hopefully more development with the wives as parts with them are rushed but descriptions of shopping and holidays fill page after page. More effort is put into setting up Orc and human than for his next wife. The end is rushed and i can not decide if that is because of edits or purpose but MC doesn't act himself at all IMO.
Eddie Hill has 5 wives that he loves completely and they all love him too, but each has unique talents that make them special in his and eachothers hearts. At the same time he and they are living above ground and below in a world called The Gloom. He is a Duke now and has too many titles to mention for the lives, communities, and world below, but the fighting isn't completely over yet...
This book series is the comfort food of haremlit. If you’re looking for a lot of drama or personal strife look elsewhere. Backyard Dungeons MC is always rising up, he’s always getting a win over the bad guy, and his relationships are solid and written very genuinely. There’s a good amount of slice of life that might turn folks away but personally I love it. The pacing between the adventuring and his home live is on point.
This series has been great, I've been looking for less high fantasy books with more mature themes that aren't grimdark type stuff that relies on violence against women to move the plot along. Logan does an excellent job of weaving intensity in the Gloom and Twilight with more laid back stuff on the surface. Very good read.
The gloom parts short and to the point. The only issue is the constant need to add characters. Beyond a certain point it just waters down story, gets incredibly predictable, and leads to old favorites being ignored. This has crossed that point.
I had to put off house work to finish this one. It was a small sacrifice but it was worth it in the end. This has been the best series I have ever read. I enjoy this one so much that I stop reading anything else and read this to the end before returning to another book.
I loose interest in most series after about book 4, not these, I can’t wait for more, and there are so many avenues for the plot to follow. I expected Eddie’s folks to just show up since he hasn’t called… that will be fun. Take a dwarf shopping on the surface, yeah, I might me excited by this series.
As good as you can get. Logan has again shown that he is a master of fantasy and adventure writing. Some other people have trouble finding a way to keep the story fresh and easy to enjoy, not you. I wish there was a way to get this series in (OH MY) hard print "ie" books.
This author is excellent! This is of course the 9th book in a series that you should start at the beginning, and I would highly recommend other series he has written. I started this one while waiting on him to continue writing Welcome to Heathen Row. I hope you enjoy his work as much as I have.
I couldn’t put it down!! It was a roller coaster of emotion and action that had me smiling, tearing up, and turning on a fan to cool down. Absolutely enjoyed this volume of Backyard Dungeon
Felt like the book didn't last long enough. Can't wait to see how everything progresses in the next book. I do feel like things wrapped up a little too fast at the end though.
The latest chapter of this series is the best so far. I actually stopped reading another book to enjoy this one when I saw that it was out. Can't wait for the next one.
It seems our hero is about to add two more women to his harem. Brock is clueless and can't seem to understand that he's in over his head. And finally, will we be free of the Demon's minions....Stay tuned
I really like these books by Logan Jacobs. Gold, girls, guns and glory, what more could you ask for? I will wait patiently for the next book . Keep up the great work and plot.
Another great addition to the series. Really it's a fun story. I hope it keeps going for quite awhile. It could end in a book or two but I see alot of potential for it to be a long series. And I usually don't care for those. I'm looking forward to book ten.
Well things are moving fast for Eddie. This was another fast paced book filled with action, adventure and a spicy succubus! They have learned who the third minion of the Demon is now the challenge is to get to him without starting a war! Bring on book 10!
Great read. Can't put the books down. Last three I have wound up reading in a day because I can't stop. Characters are well defined and seem to be real. Book draws me in and makes me want to be Eddie.
So by this point you should know what happens in this book. Eddie is the perfect hero, bad stuff in the Gloom, Brock tries to get the better of Eddie, and this time will be the one. Honestly the 'real world' parts are my favorite. Tom out
wth was this? It was like someone said "Hey Jocobs, here's a sermon on the principles of feminism. Dress it up with one of your erotic books." FFS. Every single chapter has some sort of men-are-evil skit, or some preaching on girl power. This was trash.
It's another adventure into the gloom and Eddie is in search of the third partner of the demon Lord's triumverant. In the course of the quest, he discovers that the one leading the enemy is a succubus. Can he find a way to defeat the succubus?
This is a great series that doesn't disappoint the reader. It has a nice mix of action along with character development. I'm hoping we get book 10 soon.
