Rate this book
Where there’s sex, lies and videotape, there’s bound to be drama. When Dexter and a longtime friend come across a sweet hook up, neither can refuse to accept during the summer of 2001. They are paid large sums of money to sleep with women with no strings attached……..or so they think. Before they can blink, the two men are catapulted into a murderous predicament that changes their lives forever. Twists and turns come flying at them full speed from the rugged streets of North Philly to the serene backdrop of Durham, North Carolina. Blinking Red Light is fast-paced and intriguing from the opening line to the jaw-dropping ending. It is a highly captivating story of deception and the madness that comes along with easy money. Where there’s sex, lies and videotape, there’s bound to be drama……And where there’s a Blinking Red Light, there’s bound to be a message.

I recently re-read this as an adult. I reread this when it first came out and thought it was intriguing. 20 something years later, I stand on it. This book is very well written. This book is a masterpiece and EXTREMELY entertaining to the point where you can read it all in one sitting. It is TRULY a page turner. Love the author's voice/writing style. It's truly a young black male's POV. Love love love the original and AUTHENTIC story telling style. Loved the author's expression of the young black male gaze. The plot itself was great. This book is a page-turner. I put this book up there with "COLDEST WINTER EVER" in terms of authenticity and writing style. Whoever thinks this is not realistic just hasn't lived enough. Also I liked how the author worked himself into the book. Everyone who has lived a phenomenal life has a crazy story to tell about how they narrowly escaped death. It's what makes life interesting. Loved this book. I also find his other book to be excellent. I wish he would've written more books.

A wild ride! Some grammatical errors. But overall a good story line.

Totally gangsta, and a sensitive thuggish portrait of a well meaning if slightly misguided black man trying to make in a lying theiving conniving world.

This book is hilarious. I enjoyed except for a couple of edit errors other than that I like it. The ending was not a good ending but all together the book is entertaining.
