This is the cookbook, that I learned to bake from. My grandmother and mother both used it.It contains all our favourite cookie recipes for Christmas, like Thimble Cookies,Walnut Squares, Peanut Butter Cookies, Chocolate Chip Cookies and Butter Tarts. It also has the candy apple recipe, that my mother used and sold hundreds of candy apples from my gandmother's grocery store, to school children as they went to school. I have made literally over a hundred recipes from it.

This is one of the few cookbooks I find myself always going back to. My mother and her mother-in-law both used this book for many of its baking recipes and this is the cookbook that essentially taught me how to cook & bake.
There's so many recipes to choose from all ranging in different levels of difficulty and the book breaks everything down while explaining the directions very clearly. I never felt overwhelmed when trying a harder recipes from this cookbook.

Bought the original, spiral-bound version in 1967 - it was so well-worn that when I spotted this reprint I had to buy it. It is true to the original, except that photos that were in colour are now in B&W. Other than that, everything is the same.

I own 3 copies. My grandmother's copy from 1945, my mother's copy from 1969 and the copy my mother bought for me in 1986. Love my grandmother's copy with my father's favorite recipes listed inside the cover.

This is our family's go-to cookbook since it was first published. Most of our "family recipes" originated here - butter tarts, peanut butter cookies, chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, and johnny cake. This is the #1 cookbook for four generations now.

Excellent for baking, although I haven't used many of the other recipes. My mom had the original and gave me this as a graduation gift. It hasn't let me down yet.
