A parodic musical of the movie Evil Dead, complete with hit songs such as "I'm Not A Killer," "All The Men In My Life Keep Getting Killed By Candarian Demons," and "Do The Necronomicon." Follow a group of college students to an abandoned cabin in the woods where mayhem, mischief, blood, and demons await.
Been getting into reading plays lately and I've been working on a few. Evil Dead: The Musical is actually the first thing my now wife ever bought for me 15 years ago, but I never actually got around to reading it until now. Pretty funny. I like that act one felt like Evil Dead and act two was Evil Dead 2.
This is probably one of the worst musicals ever written, but surprisingly, that is actually one of the qualities that makes it so enjoyable. It's not even that it's written poorly, but that the plot is just so incredibly stupid that it makes it hilarious. Even though I'm almost sure that effect was totally intentional, I still cant help laughing at all of the obviously socially unacceptable jokes and incredibly straightforward, usually explicit humor that can almost catch you off guard at times. I would highly recommend this if you're into comedy theater, or if you're just a fan of Evil Dead in general.
