A collection of underwhelming short stories. The random slice of life segments felt like filler, and the “uncut gems” segments, while conceptually interesting for future stories, were pretty dull to read.

The Gemstones are such an interesting concept, but the first half of the book was so boring. Tho I really liked the cameos of the less important characters we know from the main series, like Mikoto's and Touma's parents sidequests.

Although this side story delves into a lot of interesting things such as the introduction of Sogiita, Mikoto's father meeting Touma's father and the idea of gemstones in contrast to normal esper powers, a lot of it was really long and draggy imo so it eventually got quite boring to read as a whole.
