Enjoyable tales from the life of PC Mike Pannett as a policeman in rural Yorkshire.
This is a warm, cosy and humorous read - perfect for curling up with some light reading.

I have not laughed so much at reading a book until this one! It's like having a favourite uncle sitting down with a pint of beer, telling you stories. You feel for him and his companion, Ann and you get so involved... :)

Anyway, blooming brilliant is all I can say! As Thommo would say: Get on wi' it lad! Where's the next one by Pannet?

I LOVE these books, Mr Pannett writes with a lovely open way about him , I feel that I know him.
They are honest, amusing. The odd tear too along the way.

Most of all they are hugely funny!

This copper will take you along every chase so fresh you'll feel you sat in the back of the car!

An hilarious escape into the lovely Yorkshire countryside, resplendent with its unique characters, beloved customs and suspicious 'lads'. A fun take on the work of a Yorkshire bobby dealing with everything from missing persons to someone stealing milk - off doorsteps. Written in a zesty tone, this book will not disappoint.

Really enjoyed this book even though it was my second time of reading it.

The story’s of PC Pannett were still excellent to read, I need to get the second book to know what happened once Ann moved to York.

Did they move get a home together, did they get married need to get the second book to find out.

Another series completed sadly, read out of order but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all the comings and goings of the Yorkshire Bobby. I’ve done vets (Herriot), school inspectors (Phinn), Herbridean coffers (Beckwith) so I wonder who will be next to fill the gap…

Bits were slow but I enjoyed it enough to look for another in the series. A bit like James Herriot for policing, set in the late twentieth century. There are beautiful descriptions of the Yorkshire landscape and ways of life and it is all very warm.

Enjoyable and often amusing tales of a countryside bobby, well written but as with all these books sometimes a little bit boring in parts! That's life though not all action but still a page turner. I'll certainly read the next book in the series!
