All Hail Megatron’s aftermath!
I bought this in its single comic book issues, but I’ve chosen this TPB edition to be able of making a better overall review.
The general rating of this book is an average sun result of the ratings of each short story featured here.
OLD WAYS

Ironhide remembers when he meet for the first time Optimus Prime, fresh, just received the Matrix of Leadership, and Ironhide wasn’t impressed by it, but Optimus recognizing Ironhide’s field experience, he asked for lessons about military tactics, however Optimus didn’t forget his own personal instincts.
UNEASY LIES THE HEAD

In this short story, it looked like the author didn’t bother to read the issue #12 of this comic book run, since Starscream doesn’t behave as established in the said issue, but he’s more like the one in the (now classic) animated movie. Starscream ponders about his own options to keep leadership of the Decepticons, if Megatron wouldn’t recover, realizing that there are other Decepticons in the galaxy with desires to lead them too.

Perceptor was a scientist, one of the best in the Autobots ranks, but Perceptor thought that his born skills woulnd’t be a tide-turning factor in the Cybertronian Civil War, so he did himself modifications to become a fearsome accurate weapon in the battlefield.

A bunch of vignettes loosely tying into All Hail Megatron. I thought they could easily be skipped. Some of the stories feel like they may be leading into a new series. Unfortunately, the way IDW collects all of the Transformers series, I have no way of knowing what's next once it changes titles.

Another good collection of one-shots, luckly this time "All Hail Megatron" story related.
I skipped initially these two last volumes of the saga because of lots of people saying they were not at all part of it, but I'm enjoying so much IDW Transformers comics that I'm glad I decided to give them a try.

This is a fitting coda to the All Hail Megatron story. It answers questions that came to surprise the reader like for example; when did Perceptor become sniper? Or, how did Kup recover from the events of his Spotlight issue?
It also shows the immediate status of both the Autobots and the Decepticons after the climatic battle that ended the Decepticons' occupation of Earth.
It's really a palette cleanser of sorts and opens up potential storylines as well.

Transformers: All Hail Megatron Vol. 4 is clever take on events from the previous books as well as creating and expanding storylines! :D The book fills in gap in plots and explains what was happening with other characters! :D There is also eye-brow lifting moments throughout Prowl making Kup essentially a puppet on a string for one! :D The stories throughout sets up the stories for later books as well as showing in stark relief the divisions between humans and Transformers! :D
The art style really enhances the script with depiction of the events really popping off the page! :D The use of atmosphere to blur some of these scenes really gives the book a surreal quality! :D The use of the art in regards to the Transformers cloak and dagger operation add to the mystery and does a bang up job of enhancing the whole book! :D
Throughout the character are portrayed warts and all and this give the book a very lived in feel that work brilliantly and dynamically giving the characters the three dimensional feel that always works brilliantly! :D

To finish the "All Hail Megatron" story volume 4 gives us... more one-shot stories :(
After what started great in volume 1 I was a little dissapointed to get this. The stories are loosely tied into the AHM story but I can't help but feeling that the story could have finished with so much more.

Sunstreaker's story: 4 stars, Starscream's: 3, I loved Prowl's machinations too since it's the first time I got to see him in real action, but the rest of this volume: meh.

Some expanded stories to fill in the blanks before and after the events in the main series. It was pretty good, but you could tell they were running out of ideas by the end there. They completely dried up the well on this one.

The last four issues are just a lot of unconnected stuff that doesn't really add much to the overall story. They aren't bad, just nonessential.

Hail megatron I thought this would at least carry the story further instead it's just like vol. 3 a bunch of left over stories they couldn't find a place for.....

This collection promises to tie up all loose ends from the All Hail Megatron but I have to disagree. Unless I've missed something there are some pretty big gaps and unexplained events in the story and dialogue.

Rather a series of "epilogues" for All Hail..., leading us into the next period, that of For All Mankind (which I have already ordered), I think.
