An excellent introduction to the religious figure of Siberian descended cultures known widely as the "shaman" with specific focus on the Yakut and even more on the Ojibway/anishinaabe and their Midewiwin rites. Very useful as a reference tool. The author is clearly influenced by Mircea Eliade
