Truth is stranger than fiction. Truth is more horrible than fiction. 13 short stories that explore the darkest places in the human mind. All true. All terrible. All rich with the sick depravity of man's most hideous impulses. 463 pages of rape, torture, necrophilia, obsession, revenge - plenty of nightmare fodder for the hardened reader. It will leave you counting.
This book contains 13 short stories full of terror, murder, torture ... and everything is based on a true story, which makes it even more horrifying! The stories touch on disturbing themes like necrophilila, rape, torture, imprisonment, murder, insanity and more. There's a little bit of everything: the supernatural, romance, mystery, suspense, obsession, numerology - it had me turning pages all night. Not only are the stories riveting, but the writing is absolutely gripping. The descriptions are so intricate that I felt like I was in the middle of every scene. Reminded me strongly of Stephen King. A MUST read. You can buy it at this link or visit www.tjlord.com: http://www.lulu.com/content/e-book/13...
This book was awesome. You can buy it on Amazon Kindle but I don't have a Kindle so I got the eBook in PDF format here: http://www.lulu.com/content/e-book/13... The book is a real page-turner ... DON'T read it alone at night like I did, I was seriously messed up, it's really scary. I had to turn all my lights on. There's ghost stories, murder stories, lots of gore - it's definitely not for kids, I'd say it's for age 18 and over. My favorite story was the title story, "13". It's about a guy who slowly becomes obsessed with the number 13, convinced it's like a curse and going to destroy him, it's really crazy, I loved it. Also I love that it's by a local author .. not too many awesome writers from Iowa, but this one is going to be awesome.
