This coffee table book serves as a nice photo essay of Lennon's life from childhood to his fatal encounter with a horrific, gun-toting asshole.

One question why put the name of the psycho who murdered John in this book? He only did to be famous his name should be erased from history. It is a fascinating and informative read, thanks Yoko.

Having not seen the documentary that is meant to accompany this book, I can't say that I experienced the full extent that this book was surely meant to encompass. The photos and quotes were easy to appreciate in their quality and candidness, but when given the focus of only John Lennon (in comparison to the intertwining story of the entire Beatles group) the book comes off as more of an ode to his relationship with Yoko Ono. Sure, it defined much of his later life, and influenced his artistic career, but do we really need a whole book with the underlying message of "Yoko didn't break up the Beatles"?

Although his opinions are somewhat radical.....John Lennon's life and message is so thought provoking that it is difficult to consider without gaining new insight into some idea or belief about lifestyle and the world we live in.
I used to walk by small "coffee table" or "waiting room" books like this one all the time but in many cases, such as this, they are like small treasures. I bought this book for 30 cents at a used bookstore in D.C!

i did a high school social studies project on Lennon, mostly based from this read. My first real look at the artist away from the Beatles. The "jealous guy" single just was released.

It's a nice coffee table book and companion to the documentary of the same name. Well written with lots of photographs. For Beatles fan and John Lennon fan, there isn't anything new.

I've read a plethora of Beatle bios. This one really highlights Lennon's personal story. A factual picture book made up of many hours of unexplored archives. Worthwhile look at the times of Lennon.

It was not at all what I was expecting. Don't get me wrong, it's a very good book. But I think it's really more like a well put together photo album than a true biography.
