Fall in love with this sparkling story of crystals, chaos, and re-kindled romance!
For years Zee has tried to ignore her real name (who calls their kid Azure Dawn?) and her mother Marla's alternative lifestyle. A million miles away from all that new-age nonsense, she's got a reliable teaching job, a perfect life plan, and sensible accountant Simon for a fiancé. But when Marla gets sick, the foundations of Zee's rock-steady world are seriously shaken. Soon she’s back home, in touch with the boy who broke her heart, and even being sucked into one of her mom's hare-brained schemes. What about Zee's plans for the future? Could they ever include a free-spirit from her past?

Zee is 29 she is a teacher her real name is (Azure Dawn) she hates her real name, she is engaged to Simon and they live together in Bristol. Marla (her mother) rings Zee in work to tell her to come down to Brixham as she is having an operation on Sunday, her old flame Drew is there and has been helping her mother. Marla is the totally opposite to Zee she is known for her Crystal therapy and has a shop. Zee and her mother have never been close, her mother is diagnosed with Cancer and Zee moves in with her to run her shop, and care for her and her cat. She stars seeing a lot of her old flame Drew is the old feelings coming back? Things are not easy with her Mother she sets her wedding date with Simon but why is she having doubts? Does the wedding to Simon go ahead? Or do her and Simon get back together. Also how does she cope with her father back on the scene? This book approaches a difficult subject of Cancer, but I couldn’t help but laugh at Marla, the characters are good it is very easy to follow, I would definitely recommend, and will look out for more books by this Author in the future.
This book was on sale, so I got it for less than $1, and I still feel cheated, so don't even ask how many star I would give. Basically, this book burn my patience so fast, I didn't even manage to get to page 20. Crappy dialogue and plot and a whole new level of the characters' shallow-ness made the book un-read-worthy. I skipped to the next few pages, trying to look for some redeeming qualities, and instead found lots of reasons to burn the book down, along with the heroine (heroines are not supposed to be that whiny and weak, they're supposed to be bad ass and have principles. Besides, this book is not about teenagers lookin for love... Right?) Sorry if I seemed to hate the book, idk what my problem is. Chick lits that I used to read seemed lots better, was it the quality decline, or has my standard increase multiplefold?
A lovely satisfying read from a great author and a book about second time around relationships (both romantic and family ones). I loved reading about the gentle bustle of the seaside location and life as a reluctant crystal shop assistant. Zee has to come to terms with her mum and how she is, her mum now that she has learned she's ill and it's serious - and the handsome Drew from her past - a man who still makes her legs tremble and her heart wobble. It's a delight of a story to jump into. And it provides much food for thought about family relationships and how we tend to put people into boxes.
I wanted to LOVE this because it turned out to he set in one of my favourite places - a fishing village in South Devon where I spent part of most summers as a teenager. I liked it okay, I loved the idea of the book and I definitely had a bit of a thing for the hero . . . but i probably wouldn't read it again.
LOVED this book. It was very interesting and had me hooked from the start. I looked forward to the developments between Zee and Noah, and I wasn't disappointed. I liked how the events in the book brought Zee and her mother closer together; this book encompasses the theme of family and love. Highly recommended!
