I really enjoyed this book. Given the current political situation in the US, it’s so interesting that a book written fifteen years ago is so pertinent now. Great story - it’s apparently the first in a series, so I’m really looking forward to the second! The characters are engaging and the author’s research made it believable. I highly recommend this book.
A romp of a page-turner, with tidbits of history and conspiracy interwoven between the usual thriller fare. Some superficial griping about post 9/11 security (and air food) seems a little close to soapboxing.

I started this book and 8 pages in I began to suspect it was boring. I pushed on to page 30. By then it was clear that half of the characters had had a story in another book. And if there wasn't another book there should have been because everybody kept talking about things that had happened before that didn't tie into the current story. And i really hate books that make you feel like there's a story that you've missed.
This one, too, took some "getting in to". An interesting concept - the 119 group -- some good layout - but mostly about how the bad guys are winning over the good guys. Tom's desperate struggles were changed by Renata's intervention - but did it really amount to anything?
I was not expecting this to literally be part I of III. The story doesn’t quite end. Interesting perspective. You always know who the bad guys are and what they are thinking as well as how the good guys are responding
