This book describes a stunning world that continuously amazes. Extremely well-written and presented, the team of Patricia McCleary (text and drawings) and Ekkehart Malotki (photography and captions) have covered the archeology of the engravings and landscape in and near Petrified Forest National Park in considered detail. The reader is transported both thru time and along the southern boundary of the Colorado Plateau, a region called "Palavayu". I was fortunate to follow up this book study with a visit to the area earlier this month. I am enriched.

A great rock-art book for the Petrified Forest area of northern Arizona. I need to dig out my copy and re-read it!
