⚠ ATTENZIONE SPOILER INSIDE!!
A pagina 52.

A pagina 85.

Arriviamo a pagina 117. L'autore però avrebbe dovuto fare l'assassino in ombra come in Meitantei Conan. Insomma almeno i retini.
Come tirocinante avrebbe dovuto metterseli.
Piccola discesa ancora nel voto. Tre e mezzo.

--- CSI: INTERN AT YOUR OWN RISK ---
Plot: Ok.
Gambar: Ok.
Penokohan: Ok.

Kovernya keren.

Sayangnya, ceritanya untuk saya terasa so-so.

Cuma. Ya. Itu. Plislah. Translasinya. Dan. Ping. Pong-nya.

CSI: Highschool Edition

Back before Tokyopop made some bad decisions and had to declare bankruptcy once upon a time they worked with CBS to release some adaptations for the manga crowds stepping outside the normal manga expectations. The most popular of these would probably be the original Star Trek which had 3 volumes (and an omnibus later of most of the stories) but for now let us discuss this one hit wonder.

Set in the Las Vegas crime labs we follow a group of newly hired interns from the local high school (because I am sure they have courses that allow these young adults to know the basics to make them useful enough to pass a test to enter the CSI building) as they discover a fellow classmate is the mysterious woman that was murdered recently but the CSI has been keeping her identity under wraps due to her being a minor (like probably all of the interns.) What follows is a teen power fantasy as the interns obsessed with justice for their fellow student work toward solving a case the adults have not even finished investigating yet.

It seems to me some things seemed strange while I was reading like how these interns somehow have access to all of the CSI equipment with minimal interference, where did they get their knowledge that allows them not only to compete for an internship but also lets them figure out the case with minimum adult help, blunders like sneezing on a crime scene not mentioned or chastised, and how the murder victim's father who is understandably very upset by what happened is still residing in the house with only a simple keep out tape on his daughters door (would an investigator normally trust anyone emotionally distraught to be near an active crime scene? Not really sure.)

In addition I had a few other issues including like how even though the manga is in a more realistic style that many of the characters looked the same or close enough to one another that it can be confusing (it is especially true of intern Kiyomi Hudson who not only looks remarkably like the victim but also like another random character taken hostage at the end of the book. Another thing I find annoying is the bait and switch where you have an obviously strange and possibly dangerous person looks like the bad guy just to pull a surprise the killer is actually this person here tactic. Honestly I had a feeling things were heading in that direction and I was right when young hot headed interns call out potential killers on their crimes (without any backup mind you) just to miraculously be convinced of who the real killer is.) The last thing that bugged me is even though their was evidence to the identity of the killer the motive made no sense as the interns confront the killer and suddenly he confesses as he tries to escape...I mean seriously....I know this is a one shot but did I miss somewhere a clue that showed the killer was obsessed with another and held a closely guarded secret before it was thrown out there in the end? Well, at least it is not the worst book I have read though I will have to seriously throw disbelief out the window if I am ever going to really enjoy this book in the future.

Oh yeah, just in case you were curious there is a sample of a CSI book after the manga concludes for the book Brass in Pocket. I hope it turns out better written then this story aimed at teens. :)

Too many problems with story line. The interns never had supervision when using expensive equipment that you don’t have daily access to so how did they learn to use them? The illustrations of the characters were similar and that made differentiating one student from another difficult. The plot was engaging however.

2,5 stars. The story is okay enough and I go back to it time to time, but it's absolutely full of plot holes and makes no sense at the times. I'm not sure if it's partly because of a faulty translation, though.
Part of me thinks that this could have potential as a pilot for a longer story.

It was a really good book in my opinion. i wasnt too suprized about the murderer reveal, but it was still a pretty good twist. I read the finnish dub of the book so some of the references were bit hard to understand. Anyways, a pretty cool book in my opinion. (also it was my first look into manga).

This was not great. It leaned hard on trying to make the protagonists unique and ended up with caricatures rather than characterizations. The murder mystery was also pretty tropey with some obvious white phosphorus aglow clues, the red herring weirdo accusation, and a cherchez la femme-style plot.

I loved this comic. It reminded me of the TV show and actually kept me guessing until the end as I genuinely couldn't figure out who the culprit was. It was quite short and the imagery within was well done.

2015 READING CHALLENGE: A GRAPHIC NOVEL
Saw that this book was available on my library's digital catalog. I checked it out in e-book form. I wasn't really expecting much from this book but found that it was decent for what it was. I think that this book is intended for a younger audience as the story line isn't very complex. The story line was also too predictive. The only thing that was CSI about it was the use of some of the main characters from the show and the location. I think that ultimately this was just a graphic version of a fanfiction.

Surprisingly good. This follows a group of high school students interning at CSI. One of their year group is murdered, and they are determined to find out who did it. The mystery bi is well done. I wonder if there is another in this series.

This is the first CSI graphic novel that I have read. The forensics actually seemed pretty accurate in this novel, but the story line was not very developed. The storyline was so simple that the novel was boring for the most part.

Not really impressed. Too Japanese influenced and not really true to the show. Also some of the characters looked too alike and were hard to tell apart.
