My favorite was the first one, where the racist Japanese dudes who don’t get Thai food and think Japanese food is better because Japan is a more developed country are schooled through an action-packed review of historical nutritional data to discover that Japan’s produce has lowered in quality since WWII.

Then there’s a three-parter about tofu and a four-parter about Korea, both pretty good, a somewhat obvious tale about how a formerly rich guy can take more care of his family now just by being there, and a sweet story about agar-agar and a woman whose pledged fiancé went and married someone else. I was surprised that she lied to him about also thinking about marrying someone else just to not hurt his feelings - not sure if this sublimation would be more common in Japan or if it was more representive of how nice she was/how much she liked him, but it any case it did make me root for her and I am super glad she landed on her feet thanks in part to our heroes 🙏
