I thought this guide was very helpful. Me and my boyfriend read it together and found some really helpful tips to help us. It made us think of things we never thought about before when we decided we wanted to move. I love this guide and I'm glad Jodi Velazquez decided to write it and help her fellow people!
If you need help or tips on how to pack, find movers, organize your boxes, etc. This is definetely the book for you. Detailed. Love it.

I received this book as a First Reads Giveaway.

This book is a quick read; I just skimmed/read it in under 2 hours. That's a good thing for a book about moving! However, just reading about moving gives me a headache! :)

The author provides some valuable information about preparing to move and actually moving, especially for those who haven't moved before/in a while. She uses a very personal tone throughout the book, which makes it easy to read.

I especially liked the first part of the book about checking out the area you are moving to when you are considering moving. There were some points in there that I hadn't thought about last time we moved.

My fiance and I moved 6 months ago from Ohio to Mississippi and we will be moving again in 6 more months (probably just as far or farther). We moved ourselves by renting a truck and driving ourselves and will probably do that again in 6 months. While there wasn't a whole lot *new* that I learned from this book, it affirmed what we were doing and opened my eyes to other options I had not considered.

The box number sheet (with a copy included in the back of the book) is definitely something I will be implementing in our next move.

There were a couple of typos I noticed in the book, but nothing major and since this is more of a "how-to" than a novel, they're not that big of a deal. The spiral binding is also great so that it can be read/seen while doing other things, like packing! Great book, highly recommended if you haven't moved before. The author covers all bases if you are moving to/from a rental to moving/to from a house.

A very simple book. Simply written, simple to read, and understand, this book is great for moving.

I tend to move about every year and a half, so yeah, with out meaning to be cocky, I pretty much call my self an expert on moving, and even though I'm a moving expert, I still find this book useful. Full of check lists, don't forgets, and here's a tips, it's concise and easy to work your way through. It's NOT 200+ pages so you have time to actually read it before you move (read it in a day).

The only thing I wish for, is that it came hole punched for a three ring binder. The guide suggests that you purchase one as a way to hold all of your important stuff regarding your move, so why not have this slim (spiral bound) book slide in?

Alright one more thing that I found helpful in moving cross country to a state I had never been to before for my company that I didn't find in the book: before you move, Google Map the nearest grocery store, gas station, the DMV, post office, library (they're great when you need help and information about your new city), your office, school, etc., where ever you might need to get to, get directions to and from your hotel/corporate housing/new home and print them out. Getting lost in a new city in NOT fun.

The author did mention buying a map once you got there which is a good idea, even if you have GPS on your phone (you could find yourself in an area with no service, a dead battery or a million other things could go wrong, a paper map is a good idea and really not that expensive). Maps are a good idea.

Good guide. If you're moving, go ahead and read it, it'll help.

This book is really easy to read and explains things very well without a bunch of fluff.

I don't think this book is mandatory for moving, but there are a ton of great tips in it. It also covers things you wouldn't normally thing about, but they are important. I like how the book explained how to wrap things to keep them safe. I also like how it said you could use clothes, towels, newspaper, and other things around the house to help protect your stuff. There are a lot of cheaper options that this book gives you.

This book is really organized, and it is easy to follow. I really think this would help take stress off of a move and help keep things very organized.

This was a very helpful book, lots of great ideas, some of my friends are always moving it seems, I will let them borrow this when another one decides to try another place to live, I would say everyone should have a book like this, my wife and I just bought a place a couple of years ago, so no plans to move.

Book was well done and written in a really easy to understand form. My daughter said that it was a big help to her when she moved and said it was chalked full of great tips and information. I won this great book on GoodReads and like I do with most my wins I will be paying it forward by giving my win either to a friend or library to enjoy.
