Nicolette "Nikki" Montana has everything a single female wants - the dream job, comfortable home, sports car, shapely figure, and a personality everyone loves. The one thing she doesn't have is a husband. Nikki is sick and tired of people asking when she is going to settle down and get married. She wants to take back her life and be able to focus on herself and take her job to the next level. After careful deliberation she decides to sneak off and marry an "invisible husband" in Las Vegas. Nikki has it all planned out until she meets Byron.

In this game of charades she fools everyone. Her co-workers plan her a bridal shower, family set up a welcome home congratulations dinner, and her girlfriends arrange a bachlorette party. In a feverish rush to cover all the lies she has told, she decides to let Byron in on the "invisible husband" story. Byron buys into it so he can be closer to Nikki. The one thing he fails to reveal is his psycho ex-girlfriend, Tara. Does Bryon really love Nikki or is he trying to get back at Tara?

My Invisible Husband flows quickly from one scene to the next, entertaining the reader with comic relief and "no she didn't" thoughts. Even though the entire story is based on a lie, morality is the lesson learned. The character development and interaction was down-to-earth while the story line did have areas that were a bit unbelievable. There are a few grammatical errors and confusion surrounding Nikki's name (Nicolette doesn't show up until page 55). My Invisible Husband is drama filled and certain to keep you reading.

Tangled web we weave when we deceive....

What are you willing to do to hush co-workers, parents, and family members who feel you should be married by now? How far are you willing to go for people to get out of your love life? When you are single still at 34 years of age, Nicolette (Nikki) Montana was willing to do anything to live up to their expectations.

Nicolette (Nikki) Montana decides to travel to Las Vegas for the unexpected. She runs into a Byron Matthews, who promises to pay for the damage to her shoes on the air flight back home from a facade Las Vegas wedding. Momentarily, when Byron is head over heels with Nikki, his ex-girlfriend Tara shows back in his life two years later with a child. Paternity test is Byron's plan, without informing Nikki until he knows the truth. How long will this secret lasts, especially when Tara becomes Nikki's new manager at her place of employment. Ironically, you want to see a happy ending for Nikki and Byron. However, I hate when men always think they are not the father's to these innocent babies--which may be the case since so many ex's are willing to do whatever they can to grasp on a past relationship that ended on bad terms.

When it starts to get heated up, Byron living under the invisible husband conditions, his sexual appetite based on faulty intentions--unveils Nikki's virginity. I was like--wow there are still women who can hold out on God's true intentions for sex--sacredness is saved for marriage. Not another woman engaging in the lustful appetites of the flesh, and end up with heartache! Finally! Applause for this one.

My only personal downfall when reading this novel, is Nikki starts out on a lie and has a man down for her, then when it unravels a possible child in the picture, she is not willing to stand behind him. Yet, most women will not tolerate a man with a baby outside of their relationship--yet in this case, he did not know until after they were getting serious.

Shelia M. Goss brilliantly writes a witty, heartrending of betrayal-lies-and-deceit, and relationships twist-and turns. This is a must-read! Enjoyed this journey of true love on a roller-coaster of lies and deceit, but still stood out on a test of time. This book was nothing I had expected with the title--thought the woman lost her husband to a tragic accident and felt his spirit around her, boy was I wrong??? You might be too, get your copy today.

Single Ladies

When are you getting married?
Why aren't you married yet?
Don't you want kids?
I have the perfect guy for you...

Nikki Montana is sick and tired of being sick and tired of hearing about being over 30 and single. So much so that she's concocted a plan - an invisible husband. She fakes a private Vegas wedding and explains away her husband's absence with constant business trips. What she didn't plan for was meeting Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome on the plane ride home.

"My Invisible Husband" was refreshing, entertaining and a delight to read. In the version I have, the editing is pretty bad, but I see that the book was re-released with another publisher so I'm sure that was taken care of. Recommend "My Invisible Husband" for anyone looking for a good, quick read.

A Cute Little Story

Enjoyed the book. Little unrealistic. I can't imagine anyone going through such measures to please anyone, let alone co-workers and family. But I enjoyed the story and the budding romance.

I read this book a while ago, but loved the characters. And as a woman, I can totally understand the main character's frustration with the overly dramatic "When are you getting married?" She didn't just complain about it. She did something about it!

You'll just have to read it to find out what.

I loved it. I just wished I had read it first before reading My invisible wife first, because Tara was a trip.
