Ruth is a jewish girl from Russia. She and her mother move to america where her father is working. Ruth begins to become american she goes to school, and dresses in the style, but when her mother becomes a suffragette she wonders why her mother cant fit in.
I like this book because it showed how people from otther countries must fit in, and how hard is to learn a language and learn the customs. This was a god book.

This was a lovely historical middle grade book. I'm so glad I read it, particularly as an adult. There were lots of fascinating layers to this, especially with the characterisation of Ruth and her mother.
