I write not only for my own pleasure, but for the pleasure of my readers. I can’t remember a time in my life when I haven’t written and told stories. When I’m not writing, I’m dreaming about writing, doing something wild and adventurous, or trying to make the world a better and more open minded place to live in. I adore beautiful men, and I know I’m not alone in this! Eroticism between consenting adults, in all its many forms is the icing on the cake of life!
This is ugly. Not visually but in the characters and the plot. Almost all the characters do immoral things from love spells to murdering for food. The only character I liked even a little was an older Wiccan woman who was a very small part of the story. And she didn’t want her friend to help Brennus because it was too dangerous (that without know how evil Brennus really was). For all she knew, Brennus could have been some still innocent victim.
One of the heroes wasn’t a hero at all: he devoured someone in the first scene and spent the rest of the book trying to kill a guy what was the unwitting reincarnation of the man who killed him.
There was a lot of sex here and talking about sex and preparing for sex.
The idea of love came blam! Out of nowhere. Incredibly unbelievable and absurd. In fact, up to and including that point, Brennus was a monstrosity, completely self-possessed and set on killing an innocent man. Completely amoral.
I don’t recommend this at all nor do I plan to read the sequel.
A sexy seductive story about love, redemption and second chances. It was a quick enjoyable read that had me hooked from the first page. I really liked the concept with souls, magic, druids and vampires! It’s a great lunch break read that’ll leave you breathless.
I did enjoy reading this one. The story was interesting and the characters a refreshing change from cookie cutter vampire/human romances. Brennus gave me a bit of a shock with the whole human sacrifice thing at the beginning of the tale though...and that's what it was, consensual (?) or not. I also have to admit I had trouble with the world building/idea that Darien and Vortimere were the same soul/person...how could one be so good and one so evil. It just didn't click into place for me. Overall, a reasonable quick well written MM romance with an intriguing plot.
