On a snowy winter’s eve, three vampire alphas walk into Club Mistletoe expecting a night of frivolous fun.
Gifted with a gorgeous omega by their crime lord boss, Ambrose, Kane, and Laszlo intend to make the most of it before they head home, their business on Mistletoe Isle concluded.
However, the moment Holly’s blood hits their tongues, they realize that the omega desperate for her freedom is so much more than a fling at some alpha club.
Blood bond.
The cruelest joke the gods have ever made: allowing a fated bond between a thing of beauty, a creature of life… and three ruthless monsters of death.
Mistletoe Omega is a short, steamy holiday novella. It can be read as a standalone, or, if you want the MCs to have their own full-length standalone, this serves as a prologue that ends in a HFN. Please heed the trigger list at the start of the book.
Rhea Watson is a Canadian paranormal romance author who writes lone wolves and found family, fated mates and forever love. She dreams about living in a cottage in the woods that would make any fairytale witch jealous, and wishes every day was Halloween.
In her spare time, Rhea babies her herb garden, watches hilariously bad horror movies with her own hero, bows to her cat's every whim, and flies through Netflix shows like it's her day job.
This was a very spicy spice entry into omegaverse for Rhea. Vampire alphas?? Yes PLEASE XD I did not realize how much fun monstrous/paranormal ov would be but now I need all of it. Rhea also said in the backmatter to let her know if there should be a full length novel for these lovelies and O__O please I need it (if you have time)
Loved the dynamic between the three alphas (and the added aspect of being vampires!) and the spice was hot! Multi POV, sassy omega who is sometimes overwhelmed by her denomination instincts and a whole new world to explore with magic and shifters galore! Loved it. Really hoping that their HFN does become a HEA in a future full length book so we can meet the characters in better detail and hopefully find out more about their individual tastes when it comes to play.
Hot Holiday Novella 🔥 I’m never going to look at Christmas lights the same again 🫣👀 Rhea has created a holy hotness holiday novella here based on Omegaverse tropes! We have three alpha vampires, which even in this short read we really get their differing personalities come across….and certainly their different kinks! Being treated to a night of fun by their criminal boss Ambrose, Kane and Laz seek the pleasures of an Omega! Which just so happens to be Holly 😄 who never wanted this life or be saddled as an omega but is working of a debt 😬 Although she isn’t a virgin she’s certainly too experienced to be in the club….but oh boy does these camps show her some new things! They are certainly the alpha doms to her submissive omega nature 🌶️🌶️🔥🔥 yet these men discover she’s far more to them than a one night fling….how on earth are they going to break it to her?!?! I seriously need a follow up full length novel to see how these guys develop after this HFN! 😄 *RH *omegaverse *multi-pov *vampires *fast burn *novella
This was a great smutty novella, I loved the characters so much and hope that in the future we can see some more of them. I always love reading fated mates stories.
Listen!! I need more of Hollis (Holly)…love her name! Gimme Gimme Gimme!! I need to know what happens to these four!! I was so upset when they didn’t come out and tell her the truth but it will make it all the sweeter in the end. Crossing my fingers. Love the idea of the Vampire Alphas. Sigh…I love Vampires and they haven’t gotten enough love lately. Rhea has once again created a captivating new world and I can’t wait to see what else she writes in this Omegaverse.
Well, well, well! Ms. Watson has piqued my interest, and there is no way readers will be satisfied that "the End" is real! I have to have More, More, More!
Hollis deserves these men! I think they deserve her! And, I want so much more than for her to be their ....! No spoilers!
For fans of paranormal, and reverse harem stories, I think you'll love this!
I'm well versed in the Omegaverse genre. I have read many books, because it is my favorite genre either. But this is only my second vampire Omegaverse book. Unfortunately, there aren't many Omegaverse books with different species. It's mostly the non-shifting or shifting kind. So far, I only have read three deviating Omegaverse books. The former mentioned other vampire Omegaverse. Then another one was an M/F story in a world with humans and warlocks and witches with the typical Omegaverse ABO (the humans don't know about them and are called betas – like in Harry Potter Muggles). And the last one was with demons and hell.
Don't get me wrong. I love Omegaverse books either way. So, it doesn't matter if I read the normal ones (basically human, but with ABO world) or with different species. But as it is, you always crave for more than that. I often asked myself why it is so rare to write some with other species Omegaverse. I regularly mention it in my book groups, if I am asked for book ideas. But so far, nothing came of it.
Otherwise, I read, as my second favorite genre, monster books. Sometimes there are parts of the Omegaverse (fancy peens with knots, for example). Even the Sci-Fi genre has some of that, too.
But back to the initial part – the review of this book:
I really was into it, as I said. Of course, I would like it to be a full-length book, so I get a true HEA. Sure, I can imagine what could happen. But I want to see the original idea of the author. And I'm not really a fan of HFN, even though it isn't bad. It's better than a tragic ending, but my goal is the HEA. So, I would like to see it for Holly and the guys.
Furthermore, this was a great, spicy read. As already announced, it isn't sweet or cute romance. It is purely erotic and carnal with some reveals on background stories, inner struggles and the world around them. It's not light, and more dark. I really hope to learn more. It seems to be interesting.
So, it gets 4.5 stars from me. For the uniqueness, spice, and characters were great as was the overall plot. So, I'm satisfied for now, and hope for the best.
Tropes and themes: why-choose omegaverse, paranormal romance (vampires), biting and blood, BDSM and power play, darker themes involving omega abuse (not by MMCs), Christmas themed BDSM club, mates, dystopian society
*check TWs*
Summary: Holly is stuck working at a club where alphas come to use omegas who they please. Her first night of eligibility to work the floor, she gets requested by a trio of vampire alphas. These alphas are unlike any of the alphas she’s had to deal with in their dystopian world. They treat her with care, all while owning her in dominance. The alphas never would have guessed that their criminal boss managed to pick their blood bond (fated mate) for them to play with for the night. And now they’re stuck with trying to figure out what to do with her.
Thoughts: This is such a unique world, and I am interested to read more in this universe. I don’t think I’ve read another omegaverse where the alphas were vampires - so that was a really neat twist. I actually enjoyed this quite a bit and would definitely be interested in reading a full length novel exploring these four’s relationship and potential pack bond. In fact, my only real complaint is that this doesn’t quite end on a HEA.
Mistletoe Omega is Rhea's first foray into omegaverse, and it was one that completely hit the mark. Holly is gifted to three alphas, and the resulting novella is chockfull of the delicious traits that make omegaverse one of the biggest up and coming genres in romance. In any omegaverse story, we expect the attraction, one almost impossible to ignore, that begins with scents, and permeates every molecule of our characters. What Rhea gave us, was a step above, as it provided a delicate balance to this characteristic by imbuing Holly, as well as Ambrose, Laszlo, and Kane with full characters that existed outside their omega or alpha tendencies. Holly is no door mat of an omega, and the alpha's possess a level of rationale and reason that is refreshing to witness. On top of that, the spice in this book is exquisite. BDSM enters the scene, but with a certain respect for Holly and the environment that I found delightful. Holly wasn't forced. She enjoyed everything, she participated, and she consented. It was everything you could hope for in a novella, and I await with glee for the next installment of Holly and her alphas.
I have to admit, this is a first Omegaverse read for me as well as reading some of those kinks! I was aware of the triggers and warnings (which I don't believe I have any from the ones listed) and so I was curious about how it would read. It's a bit darker than my normal reads but it didn't turn me off from enjoying the story but made me aware of the characters and plot.
I enjoyed all the nuanced characters and while the circumstances they were in was rough, I still enjoyed the writing, story, and how the plot played out. I found it fun to see how the author took aspects of the holidays and wove it into the story, especially the lights and the tree skirt. I would like to read more about Holly and her alphas! I need their HEA!
3.5 out of 5 for me!
(An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review. I leave this review voluntarily and I was not compensated in any other way.)
OMG I finished this book last night in one sitting, staying up until 2AM because I'm obsessed with ABO universe, fated mates who can't be together, the strong secret pining, RH and dam all my faves wrapped up in one book.
This holiday novella is the Christmas present I needed but didn't deserve. Oh, man. Please I really hope miss Rhea Watson write a full-length novel of this story. Ma'am I'm begging you PLEASE Hollis and her HEA with the guys 😭❤️❤️
Thank you, ma'am for writing this 🫶 It's everything I wanted and needed and more. While I'm happy for the HFN, I'm really praying for a HEA for Hollis, Ambrose, Kane and Laszlo. Ma'am please this is my limit I'm yelling AMBROSIA. The wait is killing me already like the uncertainty, but seriously, it was beyond wonderful. Thank you, miss Rhea 🥰
I've been having a hard time finding BDSM to my liking lately. This book seemed promising; I actually thought it was pretty steamy, but I didn't realize the sequel wasn't written yet.
At the end of the book, the author wrote that she will write the sequel only if enough readers write reviews about this novella. I don't really like this ploy. So, if there aren't enough positive reviews, she's going to drop this series, and too bad for those who read assuming there would be a sequel, since it is specified that it is the book 0.5 of a series? ...this is a misrepresentation. I understand that the competition is fierce and that authors have to go to great lengths to make themselves known, but there are other, more acceptable methods, it seems to me.
I need more plots and twists. Now that I see the beginning of the dynamic, I need to see this all the way thru. This is a partial happy ending lol
Great read! It was short but kept you intrigued the whole time. Hopefully the author blooms this story into a full read.
Recommend this read! It’s creative in its own right and there were minor errors that you could read past without getting turned off.
Hope the author keeps the language of the vampire sacred and not mix “todays” language with how they speak. I believe Laz said “period”. And hat doesn’t seem like a term a 4 century old vampire would use.
Tricked into servitude, Holly works the cages in a Christmas themed club.
Finally let out for her first night, Holly is given to three vampire alphas for the night. Little do they all know that their lives are about to change.
This was such a hot and sexy novella that starts out the Extinction Omegaverse world. Holly is a great character, I love her inner monologue. The three vampires are great as well and I loved reading about their overwhelm at the bond that develops.
I cannot wait to read more of not only this story, but the other stories in this series as well.
Normally I’m horribly mean about reviews. This time, I just want more of these four. More backstory, more Kane. Please, more Kane. I want to see Holly free from her debts. Regarding the world in general and more books…. Bring them all on. The tiny blurbs of each grouping sound great.
I actually misread the Fire and Blood trilogy as a fae prince who turns into a dragon when he feels pretty, which was too funny. I’ll still read it even if he’s only feeling petty.
This is a new author to me, so now I’m going to go read everything else she has out there.
Rhea Watson has jumped into the omegaverse with Mistletoe Omega, a steamy holiday novella that can be a standalone or the introduction to Watson's new Extinction universe.
I loved this quick little hot holiday read. Not only was it a complete story but Rhea set up the world really nicely by explaining things right from the beginning but separate from the story, I really appreciated it. This is a supernatural omegaverse that means all sorts of supes and humans have the designations of alpha, beta, and omega.
This fantasy romance centers on Holly, an omega that is trafficked, and three growly alpha vampires. While Holly seems nice but with a little spunk, the vamps are on the darker side. They work in the criminal world and aren't soft people but seem to show respect to those who deserve it. Don't let that fool you because the monster inside them can easily slip out. They kinda remind me of the old school vampires, they sleep in coffins, drink blood, are brutal, and don't go out in the sun.
Ambrose, the coven leader, is that controlled dom, Kane is wild and dangerous (even for a vamp), while Laszlo is the softer, caregiving type, they manage to fit together as a coven. I like the guys and I liked that they treated Holly as a person and not an object and how they got all protective over her. She is having a very strong effect on the alphas.
Mistletoe Omega was a great introduction to Rhea's new world, it was set in a unique backdrop and had interesting details. I look forward to reading Holly’s full story especially since the alphas make an interesting (if not stupid) proposition to Holly. Things are obviously gonna get more interesting, I can't wait to see what happens next.
I didn't like this one. No matter what these alphas did, they just seemed as bad as the rest. So they didn't hurt this omega like most alphas do, but they aren't sweet, caring, or sinless. Even after knowing what and who she is to them. They just seem to only care about themselves. In a world where omegas are nothing, are disguarded and abused. The read continues on with it and second hand help from the vampires who didn't do to much in my eyes to be worth this poor omegas heart. Not a standalone, but a series.
A fascinating world, fun characters, and a #whychoose romance. And we get it all in a just over 100-page novella. Anytime I have a Rhea Watson book in my TBR pile, I make sure to set aside enough time to read straight through or as close to it as I can get. That was easy enough with Mistletoe Omega since it can easily be read in an hour or two. This one not only introduces a new world to explore, it starts us out with four characters I want to see more of. I usually end up with a favorite of the three in Rhea's #whychoose romances, but I haven't decided who that will be yet. All three of these guys are delicious in their own way - and I guess that's a roundabout way of saying I really want to see where things go from here. Holly and her guys deserve a full-length romance with plenty of time to figure things out. We do get a HFN conclusion in this one, so it can stand alone. Whether it's these characters or others, I can't wait to see what's next for the Extinction Omegaverse world. This introduction is a great way to spend a relaxing evening while taking a breather from all the holiday fuss. It's a bit dark, a bit kinky, and a whole lotta yummy.
Good smut. If the next book starts how this one ended I’ll probably read it. It was very very good smut. I love the bondage and suspension I haven’t read many books with rope suspension so I might have to read more book with that trope. I hope they all end up together. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Tropes Vampires Omegaverse Sub/doms Omega/alphas Rh 3 vampire men/1 omega women Sex club Trafficked fmc (forced to work at sex club)
This was a slightly dark but sweet novella. The world building and characters were amazing. Holly has had a rough life and meets a trio of vampire alphas in a club she works in. The story was steamy and I want so much more from these characters. I hope the author writes a full length story for them. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
This was a different take to most omegaverse I read, but I did still enjoy it. It's a fast paced, dark, short, erotic novella. Do not go into this looking for love and romance though, this is just smut and possession.
🧛♂️ Why choose romance 🧛♂️ Vampires 🧛♂️ Alphas and omegas 🧛♂️ Knotting 🧛♂️ Rope play 🧛♂️ Fated mates
I was pulled in by the 1st chapter. I would love to see were the characters end up after she becomes their familiar. I loved that the 3 Alpha vampires had different personalities and likes. I also liked that she didn’t settle to be like every other omega. I loved all of the authors books i read so far.
I hope RW continues this into a full novel. This is 🔥 & dangerous. Will Hollis realize her bond? What challenges will she face in her new role? How much will the guys hide or fight their connection? Mixing Vampires & OV seems an odd pairing but she made this work. I like it! Now to search out her other works.
This was such a fun take on the omegaverse universe.
We have Holly/Hollis (omega, h) who is trafficked and three hot Vampires as her mates. Will they or won't they realize who/what they are to each other?
The three MMC are well-developed and distinct and Holly/Hollis is sweet. The chemistry and spice between the foursome is 🔥🚒
Please @ Rhea Watson - write a full-length version!
Please, please give us MORE!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥 This little bit of Omegaverse right here was FIRE!!! Different islands where omegas are treated differently and our FMC got trapped on an island where she’s in debt and in servitude. Given as a gift to some vampire omegas!!! GAH!! I would have loved more blood play with this one, but it was juicy to imagine the possibilities!!!
This was my first book by this author. I was looking for something short to read before bed. This did the trick. As a novella it's a good complete hfn story but I'm greedy and I want more. So I hope you're reading this Rhea. Go write their full length novel. I need to know what happens when they get Holly home.
