*USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR*

I was born in Montreal, Canada, at a very young age, where I still live with my spouse, Joanne, under the watchful eye of Krystalle and Midnight, two black females of the feline persuasion. In a former life, I completed my studies at McGill University and worked in various management capacities for a handful of firms for countless years. From there, considering my extensive background in human resources and finance, it was a logical leap in my career path to stay home and write crime thrillers.

My first stab at writing was actually in 1995, the result being my first novel, "Vigilante". Two others of the same series followed by 1997 but all three remained dormant until publication in 2009. Since, besides writing a stand-alone, five other thrillers have joined the VIGILANTE series. I also penned "Something's Cooking", a faux-erotica parody and cookbook under the pseudonyms Réal E. Hotte and Dasha Sugah. I'm currently working on "See You in Saigon" and "The First Sixteen", two further installments of my series. I have to say, I'm enjoying this writing gig.

Other interests besides writing and subtly persuading people to buy my books include reading, making noise with my six guitars, painting (oil and watercolour), cooking (year round though I love the grill in the summer), traveling and planning to work out soon. I've also been known to sleep on occasion.

It reminds me of an early Ian Fleming James Bond book in style and ability to grip its readers

Claude Bouchard writes with a page turning power which sucks you into his plot and encourages you to suspend belief. He creates a parallel world of ruthless righteousness where no crime goes unpunished, except for the crimes committed by the hero in pursuit of the wrongdoers. It has enough detail to be real and enough unnerving insights to make the reader worry that some of it might be true.

Bouchard's here, Chris Barry, is James Bond with Alan Turing's computer skills grafted onto him. And yet he makes mistakes, has human failings and is far more sexually faithful than Bond ever was.
This duo of novella's fit together well, with a delightful and unexpected twist in the second one. (Don't be tempted to read them out of order as you will spoil the intriguing surprise Bouchard has crafted into the sequence for your delight)

This is exactly the sort of escapist thriller which suits the Kindle format and is ideal leisure reading from blokes who want to feel macho and invincible. (So not a book for those into romance or chic lit)

I enjoyed it and was disturbed by it in equal measures. All in all a good read.

I guess I cannot say how much this book pulled me in from start to finish. I did not want to do anything until I finished it and found out the outcome.
Chris had taken care of the people in his life who had done things to hurt those he cared for.
He works on a computer. Considered a smart person because he helped to get a business on its toes, it was sold for a lot of money.
When he was found out as the Vigilante who had taken care of the above people, Jonathan, head of a special unit, approached Chris to work for him. He wanted Chris to help find out something about a certain business. He went to the business, Quality Imports, about helping with the computer side of the business, as a consultant.
When he got into the business, he knew things were going on so he set up a surveillance camera to watch the area he knew the company had their business. He also set up bugs in the offices of the men he felt were behind it. He set up various bugs to know what was going on. They were smuggling drugs into the country, and making a good wage from that.
When the group found Chris was watching them, they started to search around, found a camera, went to talk to Chris. Discovered he was not home, took his wife.
When Sandy, Chis' wife, was not answering the door to go shopping, not answering her phone, the friend called Chris. He knew they had Sandy.
With help from Jonathan, RCMP officer, people were brought down.
Not gonna say more than that, you have to read the book to find out the "rest of the story". Who the guys were dealing drugs with, what they thought they could do to make more money, who they were paying to be able to get the drugs into the country.
Good STORY!!
