Author Olayinka Aikens was born and raised in Oakland, California where she got her start penning stories at the tender age of eight. After college she penned her first novel and hasn't stopped writing since. Before taking a brief hiatus from the craft, she spent time working on various projects in Los Angeles in the entertainment industry as a ghostwriter. Olayinka holds a degree in Psychology from Southern University and A&M College and a Master of Professional Writing degree from Chatham University. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She calls Dallas, Oakland and Atlanta home. In 2015 Olayinka founded Ushujaa Publishing, a company determined to publish real, raw reads, straight from the heart. Ushujaa means courage in Swahili.
