The Complete Approach, written by two of the best well-known paranormal investigators in the world, Barry FitzGerald and Dustin Pari. In their book the delve into just why the bumps in the night go bump and why the hair on the back of our necks go up when the lights go out. They have taken the scientific approach in explaining some of the most common paranormal experiances.
I got this book because I really enjoy listening to Dustin Pari speak and investigating with him whenever there is an opportunity. This is a great book if you’re just starting out in the paranormal. If you’re not a newbie (like myself) it still has some valuable info in it. There are some proofreading errors that could had been caught but all in all a good read. Especially if you’re curious or just diving into the world of the paranormal. If you ever get the chance to meet Dustin, listen to one of his presentations or investigate with him please go do it. He is an amazing person! I’ve not yet had the pleasure of meeting Barry.
If ever a book needed a good editor, it was this one. The subject matter was interesting, but I got the sense that it was either self-published or rushed to press. There were places in the book where editorial notes were included in the text. I am a fan of Ghost Hunters International and felt that the book really did a disservice to Barry FitzGerald and Dusitn Pari because of it's lack of polish. The authors have a good deal of experience and background in paranormal investigating and are quite knowledgeable about the theories put forth in the book. Sadly, I fear that readers who are unfamiliar with them will question their credibility and professionalism because in it's poorly-edited form, it does not do them justice.
I would still recommend that those who are serious about learning more about the paranormal read the book. If one can get past the errors that should have been corrected during the editing process, the book has a lot to offer in terms of information.
I've been a fan of Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International since they aired on television, so when I saw that this book was being published, I was very excited to get it. Upon reading, I was very disappointed. The subject is interesting and you can tell that Dustin Pari and Barry Fitzgerald really know what they're talking about, but this book seemed that it was written way too fast and that it wasn't really edited, if it was actually edited at all.
I definitely learned a lot reading this, and it was interesting, but it seems jumbled and, for me, not broken down and explained enough. It's more of just an overview (which I think is due to the fact that there's so much information packed in here). Not the best book on the paranormal I've ever read, but I don't regret buying it, either.
