This is an actual history book, not just a textbook. It’s well-enough written that it could be read aloud as a podcast. Garraty has a good understanding of the details of American history, not just the “themes.” I haven’t seen the current edition.

A history textbook covering the history of the United States through the Vietnam War. The author writes from a polically correct revisionist point of view.
