Longfellow #1

Longfellow Seduced

Rate this book
Magnus Crowe learned the hard way never to trust a beautiful woman, so when his partner Silas discovers that someone is stealing from their club, The Dungeon, Magnus is totally opposed to calling in a woman to fix it. Particularly a Longfellow woman.

Prudence Longfellow comes from an ancient line of woman warriors. Longfellows are healers, historians and guardians...and in her case, forensic accountants. She agrees to track the missing money at The Dungeon with one condition: Magnus Crowe must stay far away from her.

That's a promise easier made than kept. Pru might look like a little mouse, but she's a warrior at heart, and her valor (not to mention the intoxicating scent of amber and vanilla that follows her around) are impossible for Magnus to resist. Magnus and Pru fight their attraction to each other for as long as they can, but even an ancient Vampire and a Longfellow can't beat fate.

But fate isn't the only thing conspiring against them. Magnus' and Silas' sire, the evil Contessa Allessandra DiCasca, has set a foul plan in motion to reclaim her boys. It is only with the power he finds in Pru's love that Magnus can gain the strength to defeat his creator and protect all he holds dear.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, dubious consent, violence.

I read this paperback book with two stories in one!! As such you will see my review for Longfellow Lovers her also.

I was in the mood for a short quick fantasy story and decided to pick this one up. The blurb was very interesting; two stories in one book. One vampire and the other mermen.

These are no stories with background, trying to form relationships or secondary characters. If you are looking for stories with substance and history and getting an everyday peek in the main characters lives, then this is not the book for you. These stories are just fantasies. The sex started from the first page and almost every page is just sex, sex and more sex. That is all there is to them as with all of ellora's cave novels.

Story # 1: Longfellow Seduced

Prudence is a CPA that has been hired by a rockstar vampire band to find out who has been siphoning money off of their club Dungeon. As soon as she meets lead singer Magnus she knew she was done for. This vamp eats her up with his eyes and cant wait to bury his fangs in her and claimed her for all eternity. Pru wants nothing to do with Magnus but she cannot dismiss their vampiry attraction. But when Magnus sire, a beautiful contessa named alessandra comes back to claim him after 200 years, prudence found out she cannot let another woman have him.

Story # 2: Longfellow Lovers 🧜‍♂️🧜‍♂️

Ariana is on vacation on a beach in Australia when two mermen washed up ashore. Mermens! No one ever knew their kind existed!
Jax and Ky, are far from home. But as soon as they spotted Ariana they knew she was their mate. Mermens only mate for once in their lifetime and they have only one day to claim her in order for her to live underwater with them. They also have to take her back to meet their father, Poseidon. They both must claim her together at once. But Ariana is not willing to give up her life on land for her two mates.

This book served its purpose. You know what I mean! Cannot state it here. Didn't disappoint!

Magnus Crowe loves all women…well, all women that aren’t Longfellow women. The rock star vampire has no use for those petulant princesses that call themselves “Protectors of humanity.” Until he and his partner Silas discover someone is stealing millions from their club, that is. Then Magnus has to eat crow and suffer a Longfellow woman in his club. But forensic accountant Prudence Longfellow isn’t at all what he expected.

Prudence Longfellow comes from a long line of female warriors, so it’s no surprise she doesn’t like Magnus calling her “little mouse.” The Scottish vampire is an arrogant, slutty, irritating, oaf and Pru doesn’t like dealing with him in the least. Now, if only her libido would get in line with her assessment.

Both Pru and Magnus are about to find out that sometimes you find love where you least expect – or want – it. But even if desire overcomes their need to argue with one another, the road to happily ever isn’t smooth. Magnus’s creator has reappeared in his life, determined to have Magnus back at any cost.

Longfellow Seduced is one of the hottest, best, most entertaining vampire romances I’ve read this year. Violet Summers has created an intriguing world filled with fascinating characters I loved and hope to read more about. Magnus is, to borrow a phrase, “sex on a stick.” He’s got an innate sensuality which practically comes off the page and definitely made me wish I were Pru. He also melted my heart with his protectiveness, caring, and surprising gentleness. Magnus isn’t perfect, in fact, he can be every bit as oafish as Pru claims, but he’s perfect hero material in his imperfectness. When his arrogance gets to high, Pru is there to knock it back down. Pru’s a fitting mate for a warrior vampire; she stands her ground and isn’t cowed by anyone or anything. I flat-out adored her and couldn’t wait for she and Magnus to fight and [fill in the blank] their way to happily ever after.

Longfellow Seduced has everything you could want in a tale. It’s sure to make you smile, sigh, and even sweat. The authors that make up the writing team that is Violet Summers are some of the best at creating captivating characters and delicious love scenes. I enjoyed every page of Longfellow Seduced and hope this book leads into a series, for there are so many characters whose story I would love to read (Trinity and Silas, to name a few). All in all, the best I can say is that Violet Summers has delivered yet another phenomenal book. Joyfully Recommended!

Longfellow Seduced by Violet Summers
Erotic Paranormal Romance- August 11th, 2009
3 ½ stars

Longfellow Seduced is one HOT book but I found it rather short on actual plot.

Magnus and Silas are vampires. They are centuries old Scottish men who have finally built a life where they are happy. Magnus is a famous rock star and Silas the manager of the club they both own. But trouble at the club forces them to call for outside help.

Prudence Long fellow is a CPA, and part of the powerful female Longfellow clan. She has come to investigate Magnus and Silas’s club and find out the mystery behind their missing funds. There she meets Magnus a wild Scottish vampire who intrigues her with his reckless beauty. His rude behavior repels her even as his dominating kisses mesmerize her.

Magnus can’t believe he is attracted to the mousy CPA, he loves all women but never one in particular. But Magnus can’t seem to keep his hands to himself. As Prudence’s investigation grow deeper, secrets from Silas and Magus’s past come to light as one woman’s need for power and control threaten to destroy their lives.

This was a light read with some very steamy scenes. Magnus is a very sensual and skilled lover and the scenes with him and Pru are smoking! But I found myself drawn toward the silent and brooding Silas more. (Would love to see the woman who tames him!) Silas seems more responsible, mysterious and intriguing. While Magnus was the typical handsome player who beds any woman. Magnus careless attitude bothered me. He didn’t seem to have any discrimination until Pru caught his eye and kept his attention. I tried but could not feel as connected with either of the 2 main characters as much as I would have hoped. The actual relationship between the 2 seemed somewhat forced and rushed. Besides this fact, I thought this story was a good, short read.

Violet Summers originally published this book back in 2009. I love vampire novels, but I have always found it hard to find a good vampire novel. This book exceeded all my expectations.

Prudence Longfellow is a part of an ancient line of women who are healers, historians and guardians. They are feared and respected among the world they are a part of. Prudence is a forensic accountant. She is there to track missing money for Magnus Crowe. She comes across as not only strong but smart.

Magnus Crowe does not trust beautiful woman because he learned the hard way it does not always end well. He is attracted to Prudence even though he does not want to be. In addition, he is worried because he spots his sire Contessa Allessandra DiCasca. He wonders about her motives. He comes across as a strong and sensitive guy wrapped up in one.

I enjoyed watching as Prudence and Magnus fought there attraction to each other. The chemistry they had together was explosive. The sex scenes were off the charts. They make a great couple.

I think that this book was pretty short considering the plot. I wish it were longer. Overall, this was a wonderful book. The characters just came alive. I would love to know more about this world that Sierra and VJ Summers created. I hope that there are more books by this author about this world.

I wish I could give this 3.5 stars, but unfortunately, the site won't let me. The authors know how to write sex scenes, and the heat their characters generate is immense, but that diverts attention that should have been paid to the actual plot and necessary exposition to better round out the heroine's history. I didn't initially buy the turnaround from hate to lust, either. That took quite a while to get past.
